  1. On the edge of Commerson's crater, Reunion island. Fujifilm X-T1 + 16mm f/1.4 : ISO400, 1/160, f/11 https://flic.kr/p/Foq9L6
  2. Hi! I use a Tokina at-x 90mm f/2.5 macro with a 1:2 ratio. I did not buy the Tokina adapter to reach the 1:1 ratio because I already own a Raynox DCR-150. In my opinion, it is more convenient on the field to use the raynox than dismount the lens and add the genuine Tokina adapter. I like this lens for many reasons : crisp images, smooth focus ring, looks great on the X-T1 and pleasant bokeh. Moreover, it is a versatile lens which allows to do some great portraitures or nature pictures. You can check my album on flickr : https://www.flickr.com/photos/61985257@N08/albums/72157662765493309 Only cons : CA can be strong and distracting at f/2.5. But you can handle with it easily with post-processing.
  3. Hi everyone! If you can still read this, I suggest you the 16/35/90 combo. I own the xf 16mm and xf 35mm 1.4 and they are great in most of situations. Furthermore, I have to say that the 16mm is so good and polyvalent that I have almost neglicted the 35mm since I bought the 16mm. If someone want to go on a trip with a single lens, the 16mm could be on top of the list (WR is sure a pro). I don't own the xf 90mm but I am an happy owner of a tokina at-x 90mm 2.5 (bokina). I just bought this one in order to have a perfect (at leat for me) set for lightweight travels. IMHO prime lenses are more flexible than zoom lenses due to wider aperture possibilities on the field. I won't bother with heavier zoom (just my opinion and taste). I used to live on a tropical island so I can say something that might sound crazy here : WR is nice but the other lenses are not made in sugar neither. A non WR lens can be used on a tropical field. What you have to do is to store your gear is a bag when you don't use it (put some silica gel inside), be quick when you swap lenses an avoid to mount a lens every minute. Moreover, you won't have any problem if you are aware of you environment and avoiding windy or dusty moments to dismount your gear, The best thing to do is to try to anticipate what you are supposed to see every day of your trip and try to mount the most satisfaying lens before going on the field. I also suggest you to keep some ziplock bags to store your equipment if you have to walk on a heavy rain. Last suggestion : bring a good polarizer filter with you if you want. It could be usefull for landscape shooting. Polarizer filters have a nice impact on water and foliage scenery. I hope you will enjoy your trip. Regards
  4. Hi! I have a X-T1 and a nikkor 300mm f/4.5 ED-IF lens and I use a K&F concept adapter found on amazon for few weeks. Here is a sample on flickr : https://www.flickr.com/photos/61985257@N08/albums/72157655838055189 Photos of the falcon and great horned owl are straight of the camera jpeg. The others were a bit cooked on lightroom (cropped and some adjustments). This lens weight less than one kilogram and I shoot handheld. I choose this lens because a good lens stays a good lens : it is free of distorsion but can bring some CA in weird lighting, especially on distant white small objects under strong light (nothing insuppressible). It can do the job that for sure. Results depends on me and I try to improve my focus technique. Sometimes, I miss some shots because my eye is distracted by red dots in the EVF when the switch is on MF. I can shoot to 2.5meter to infinity, but the closer I am better result I get. I also own a TC-14B converter, which gives me a 420mm lens. I feel uncomfortable with it, because images are less sharper. With no tripod and stabilisation it is too shaky and frustrating at the end of the day. I am thinking about adding some grip on the camera because of this lens. For now, I imagine taking a J.B. camera designs wood grip.
