  1. Since i focus wih the AE-L button, and i don't use any of the other buttons, I have programmed them all to be "focus point selector". That function does the least damage, should i touch a button bt nistake, since touching the shutter then brings me back to shooting. That is why i only put a bead on the AE-L button.
  2. My X100s has a leather halfcase from Luigi at Leicatime in Italy, a softrelease from ThumbsUp, and a thumb grip from the same place. I have also stuck a Gordys strap on there, and that strap is getitng greased so often that it is now so supple.... 3. I have put a Lolumina soft release on mine, since I have big hands. I found it too slippery, so I painted it with matte nail polish to get the friction I wanted. I have a custom length strap from Gordys, which I am greasing over and over again to get it as soft as he one on my X100s I also back-button focus, but found the AE-L button hard to find, so I glued on half a bead my daughter left in the car s oI can find the button without taking my eye off the viewfinder. Other than that, the battery grip stays on all the time. My X100s has a Leicatime leather halfcase, a soft release form ThumbsUp, and also a thumb grip. I would like to have a thumb grip on my XT-1 too, but it would get in the way of the back-button focusing. Anyone else out there with modifications to suit your needs?
  4. I use B+W MRC filters, and have always done so, if I am going to dirty places. Usually, I leave the filters off, but in the jungle or deserts, I put them on. The multicoating is good because it makes it easier to clean them off. Also, the B+W are made of brass, and the softer metal makes them less likely to fuse with the threads of the lense and get stuck.
  5. Hi guys, I have a problem with the new firmware. With the 50-140 on, the IS never stops running. I have set it for "Shooting only", but it still runs all the time, as long as the camera is on. What do I do to turn that off? I have mine set up for back button focus, on the AE-L button, and the camera usually set on MF. Tips?
  6. Hi there. My name is Anders, originally from Sweden, but I haven't lived there for a long time. VIa England, Germany and Norway, I have now ended up in Bolivia. I have been working with photojournalism for a while, but nowadys I mainly shoot for my own satisfaction. after having shot Nikon (D300, several D700, D3, D3s, D3x, and D4) I finally had enough after I bought the D800. I got fed up with the weight, the price, and the attitude of Nikon. I dumped it all, including some absolutely amazing lenses, and bought myself the X100s, the XT-1, a 23, 35, 56 and 50-140. I'll never look back.
