  1. I have been paying attention to how I use cameras. I usually set ISO for a given light condition and then adjust A and S as I shoot. Once the ISO is not adequate then I change that and continue. I rarely go from S to AF-C or back and forth in the same session. Given this realization, I pre-ordered XE-4. My plan is have front dial for ISO and I will either do AF mode or Film sim on the function button on top. Looking forward to getting the Camera.
  2. I watched the summit while no Fuji officials said it is WR, the X photographer at talking about XE-4 mentioned it is WR. No one corrected her either. Mindy from Singapore I believe said it. Plot thickens If it is WR, I am pre-ordering with the new lens.
  3. Personally I don't mind the reduction of buttons and clutter on the back of the camera. It makes it better to grip but I will admit, I do not like touch screen. Fortunately most of my camera, I just needed 3 controls to be readily available, aperture, shutter speed and iso. As long as these 3 are quick to adjust, I am good to go. Looks like the XE-4 would be fine in term of that. The only thing I really hoped for was WR... would be a great little package to keep at all time rain or shine. We will have to see if that's the case as I compared to X100v spec sheet, also did not specify WR on the spec sheet. one can hope right?
  4. I am lucky to have the m246 monochrome. I also love Fuji gear. One of the reason monochrome is so different is because the removal of color array. Think of those picture of color array of traditional sensor and x trans you end up needing 4 pixels to represent a color. This is very simplified explanation and that means your resolution is reduced. Secondly less filter more light hits the sensor and the same sensor without the color array will be cleaner at each iso level. the only issue with conversion is that the lens are designed for light to go through a certain thickness of sensor stack. I found this early on when adapting my m lens to Sony a7, Fuji x10 and my em5. Leica has the thinnest sensor stack because they want their camera to work with their lenses designed for film. definitely interested if Fuji comes out with a monochrome!
  5. Hello everyone. New to forum here but certainly not new to fuji either. This is a topic I have been thinking about for a long time. For my main camera, I will always want OVF. I am spoiled by big and bright OVF. It has less distraction and I feel more connected to the world whether taking the camera up to my face or moving it off. I liked rangefinder even more because I see even more of the world an what comes and goes into my frame. That's the reason I bought the X100 at launch. It is now replaced by the x100t. The real problem with EVF for me. May be psychological but I feel like I am looking at a television at the end of a tunnel. Completely disconnected to the world. I do like the fact I dont have to 'imagine' what the final picture is like and I can dial in the exposure 100% everytime. This is still not my prefered method. Above someone mentioned headache. I dont get headache but over time if I use EVF for too long, I get a bit disoriented and the brightness of it makes my pupil has to adjust to real life light and the light in the tunnel... Very annoying from time to time. That's a major reason why I dont forsee a future where all of my cameras will be EVF. Definitely not the one I use daily. Roger
