    My typical ACR settings:
amount 50..70, detail 5..7, radius 1.0, no masking
I.e. common idea decrease 'details' but increase 'amount'

Fotasy works for me.  I use it with a Nikon 105mm micro.  Be aware that there are two different types of adapter for Nikon lenses:  One for G-series, i.e. newer nikon lenses without an aperture ring. One pre-G Nikon lenses, i.e., the ones WITH an aperture ring.

That's just lens ordinary lens flare combined with the "red dot" flare common to basically all mirrorless cameras (caused by the short flange distance). Those are completely different problems to the "purple veiling flare"/"grid artifact" problem that only X-Trans II and (especially) X-Trans III sensors suffer from.

Well, the author has worked for Adobe, so I'd already start out by saying 'take it with a grain of salt'.

That said, I use Lightroom all the time, unless you are uber picky about pixel level detail on big screens you'll be fine. My reference is still the print, and I've not seen any difference in print quality whatsoever between the C1 and Lightroom in anything I've printed lately, up to 1,5m x 1m. And my web images get reduced anyway, so you can't even see the detail in those.

Thanks, I've been lucky last few weeks ☺️ sometimes you see great skies for days, sometimes it's months without anything useful. Missed a great one yesterday, still kicking myself

Some views from my office, the Airbus A32F. Helps having a small Fuji in the bag at all times, pictures taken with the X100T and the X-T1.

And some more, Fuji X100T and X-T1, last shot is Athens at night with the sky above, 3.5 seconds exposure, hand balanced on the windscreen, ISO 6400 and 16mm at f1.4... Heavy on the noise reduction, this was shot on a moonless night at 37000ft.

Totally agree about Lightroom with Fuji RAW files; it's crap, pure and simple. It's not just the way it mushes all detail in foliage and fine grasses, etc., it also washes out all the colour. Never had a problem with any other camera in LR until I had a Fuji, Adobe just don't 'get' that sensor. It was so bad when I first bought an X-T1 last year, I couldn't understand the hype, I just thought the camera was awful, and sold it. It's only when a friend encouraged me later in the year to try different RAW developers that I went back to a Fuji body as a second camera.

C1 does a much better job, as does Iridient. I don't personally find them easy to use, however, particularly in terms of Library management, which is why the Fuji is now a second camera. It excels on natural light portraits, and cityscapes/seascapes, etc. where this issue doesn't raise it's head as much. Personally, Fuji will never be a first camera again until they either ditch X-Trans and just use a state of the art BSI sensor with no anti-alias filter, or LR fix their handling of X-Trans RAW files very fundamentally. Such a shame.

(P.S. yes, I've extensively tried different sharpening methods, turning off NR in LR, etc., etc., sorry, but to my eyes, on the subjects where this rears it's head, I've never found it to eliminate the issue, as it's a demosaicing problem, not a sharpening/NR one.)

well, the only consolation would be that if there would have been anyone to tell you about THOSE prints he or she would have told you about those prints made by them in Singapore but chances are that if you live somewhere else the information would have been of little use to you the moment you would have stepped into someone else’s shop to have prints made since they would have used a completely different se up.

There is no doubt that you can have X trans files printed at very large sizes with very good results.

The best thing to do is for you to go to the nearest or best printing service available to you and, after a preliminary discussion on what to do (or NOT to do) with your files and how they want them to be given to them to assure the best results  to have a test made.

This could be even a portion of the file but in that case remember to look at it from the appropriate distance that the whole of the print would be looked at.

This article explains the concept in detail
