SPB-007 reacted to IanE in Auto ISO and Exposure Compensation set to C
There are so many ways to set up the camera it could be any setting. I will reset it to factory and add my set up piece by piece and see where the firmware goes wrong. It does seem a few people have the exact same issue so pretty sure its a firmware bug.

Hmm - I don't seem to be able to replicate it with my camera

SPB-007 reacted to pw-pix in Hi new here need some advice
People looking to get away from Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop subscriptions have been praising Affinity Photo as a viable replacement for Photoshop. It's a perpetual licence instead of a subscription and is affordably priced. Available for Windows and Mac computers (and iPad).
I've not used it, but I have used their Publisher DTP software and it's very good.

Yes it was a very frustrating decision to make.
Of course the only benefit is not having spent a huge chunk of money! Good shooting to you.

somewhat jealous but DO enjoy your new machine! I just checked with my retailer here in the States and I'm still on backorder with no other updates. Our dealer initially thought deliveries should start by the end of April. Guess I'll have time to read up on the new RF.

Fantastic thanks for the link! Now I need to start reading up on this great camera. Hope my backorder fills soon. Ordered the day after my dealer started taking orders so hopefully there are not 500,00 orders ahead of me!
Also am a bit concerned that my US-based dealer will jack the price because of impending tariffs. IF yes, my backorder will be a distant memory because I will not pay a cent more than advertised when I placed my order. Emailed my vendor and they were ambiguous in their reply. I don't know their policy on price fluctuations for backordered products.

Try user setting > screen setting > preview exp/wb in manual mode > off
OR
Change the Preview Pic Effect setting to off (spanner menu).

OK I guess I will need to be patient. I did download the manual for the closest spec detachable lens version of 100mp sensor camera but there are quite a few operational differences. I didn’t want to even bother attempting that manual!
For this issue, YouTube has started to become my best friend, through repetitious watching of some specific movie files.
I appreciate your reply.

Hello:
Does anyone have a download link for the Gfx100rf user manual? I’d like to get a head start on learning this camera while on backorder.

the fuji remote release still requires you to buy separately a 2.5mm female to 3.5mm male adaptor from any computer or audio store in order to be able to plug into the GFX 100 ii 3.5mm socket

SPB-007 reacted to Greybeard in Importing files
It might depend on your computer - but using a card reader should be the fastest method of transferring files (make sure the reader is able to support the fastest read speed of your cards)

SPB-007 reacted to Edp in DIY travel SD card backup tool.
Since I’m going to Spain soon, I wanted a light and effective way to back up my SD cards every day during the trip. There were some old and no longer available devices on the market, but all had limited capacity and rather expensive... or bulky.
I came across a neat project that uses a Raspberry Pi zero 2 (this is a much faster version of the old Pi zero) and also supports Wi-Fi. I made one, designed a custom case for it that I 3D printed (I have files for anyone that wants to to this project), and can say it works extremely well.
The device is extremely simple, plug in a target storage device (in the pictures I have an extremely tiny crucial 4 terabyte ssd drive - the square thing), plug in a card reader (in the picture it’s that very compact usb stick so no cables needed), and it will automatically back up what’s on the SD card. It won’t overwrite files, only add new ones, and recognizes different SD cards so it makes separate folders for each unique SD card. It has a screen that shows transfer status, and while idle shows you the ip address so you can log into it with a phone and web browser. The thing is, with a portable battery, you can do this without even being near an outlet, and entirely in the field or on the go.
pics Lens cap for scale
here’s some screen shots if you want to log in You can also get thumbnails of images, but that takes way too long to generate, so I leave that function off
the project can be found here - https://github.com/outdoorbits/little-backup-box
the hardware portion isn’t entirely concise, if if people make this for themselves I can share what I got and from where. The main parts list are:

and the OLED display (make sure if you get it from adafruit to get the pigtail connector) -

the best thing is, you can use any low power ssd storage drive, and if you need more space, just get more drives.
for the usb card reader, I got this, that’s in the image -

I hope this helps someone looking for an on the road backup solution, and is a tinkerer like me.

SPB-007 reacted to olmy in Has ON1 lost the plot in 2024?
Digging more into it the app still struggles at times if the setting to combine jpeg and raw together is on. Had all working after separating the two file types. Appears only Raws matched with Acros BW simulation were the problem. What I found further is the app is still "confused" by only some Jpegs shot with the Fuji Acros BW simulation. Even after is was working by all for a bit. The app is struggling with some of the Jpegs. I think that was the root of the issue. There is some bug that needs to be addressed with this situation. I do have a ticket open with support. We shall see if that goes anywhere.

Hmmm. Thanks for getting back. Next thing to try.
Quit ON1 Create a temp folder Use Finder (on Mac) or Explorer (Windows) to copy the image files that have the problem, to the temp folder Start ON1 and browse the copied files IF they wok, then from inside ON1, drag them to their original location and when prompted, select Replace Report back! -
SPB-007 reacted to Paul Szilard in Has ON1 lost the plot in 2024?
Try this:
Quit ON1. Delete any XML or .ON1 file with the same name as the photo. Start ON1 and see if you can open the file. Report back on the results, please.

SPB-007 reacted to Paul Szilard in Has ON1 lost the plot in 2024?
I've been an avid ON1 licensed use since LR went subscription. I had update to the latest every time and thus I have ON1 Photo Raw 2024 MAX license at the current moment. I am running on a Mac Studio M1Ultra with 128 GB ram and 4 TB SSD connected to 2x 5k LG Ultrafine monitors. So should have enough grunt.
I now find that SOME of my X-H2 raw files cannot be opened by Photo Raw 2024. BUT other raw files taken seconds apart and in the SAME FOLDER with the SAME settings, can open fine. Also Photo Raw 2023, as well as a bunch of other photo editors CAN open the these files with no problem. On1 support had not been able to fix this, to date. The sent me a link to a Beta version of 2024, admitting that the last shipped version has major bugs, which were fixed by this beta - but alas, it is exactly the same. Here is a screen grab of both v2023 and 2024 side by side:
Open for comments, but please refrain from telling me to just use LR or Photoshop, or C1, etc.! Thanks for your understanding.

SPB-007 reacted to Blue Zurich in Fuji X-T5: Full Performance with Classic Handling
After 40 years with mostly Canon, both film and digital, a brief summer romance with Oly and a background with Nikon film, I cannot state how pleased I am with transitioning to Fuji and the X-T5. I thought I would never leave full frame but here I am and with a widening array of versatile primes at my reach I have no constraints and the files are very manageable. Muscle memory from EOS and dial/button placement was a thing in the beginning but now after a couple months it's been reset. Nothing but enjoyment and great images.

You do have some options.
If you want to use Apple’s Photos to take care of storing, managing the files and lightweight editing but want to also use an raw converter / editor with more “oomph”, you can do that as well: https://support.apple.com/en-us/102259 scroll down to the part about “Install Mac apps …”. Affinity Photo comes to mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2Zt1NDfC7E
https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/photo/
DarkTable, a raw convertor also has a dam built into it, you might like it. This program has a steeper learning curve than Photos does, but it is very powerful: https://www.darktable.org
If you are inclined to do a little more asset management yourself, RawTherapee or Fujifilm’s Raw Converter are pretty good:
https://rawtherapee.com

p.s. Welcome to the forum.

Fuji cameras just get out of the way. Everything I need (aperture, shutter, ISO, EC), readily available, and minimal distractions from things I don't.

SPB-007 reacted to Tuxster.mk in What's missing from the GFX lens catalog?
I feel as though Fuji now needs to focus on making the lenses not necessarily faster, but a little more streamlined. Look at Leica SL lenses or the new Hasselblad V series. They have a distinctive look of quality and like eye candy.
just my 2 cents but in any case newer lighter lenses are always welcomed
