Hi all, after a few years away from photography I've decided on getting back into it in preparation for a family holiday next year.
Sorry, this might be a long post 😅
Plan on mainly family shots with kids so many focal lengths would be ideal and some nightlife street photography of Hong Kong. Expecting to come across situations of changing humidity (air con to outside 30°+) as well as heavy rain.
Considering the above requirements, I've settled on getting a used X-H1. (Ibis, wr, 3 way tilt screen)
I just can't make my mind up on which lens... As mentioned above, just getting back into cameras and travelling with kids means ideally I only need 1 lens right now.
From my student days using Nikon I fell in love with my 50mm 1.4. Never had any 'pro' standard zooms. Though due to it being effectively 75mm I think it'd be too limiting for street work.
The XF 16-55mm f2.8 seems like a compelling buy to me, as opposed to getting either the 23/35mm f2s. I understand that the zoom won't be as sharp as the primes but my biggest question is will f2.8 be different from f2 in low light conditions? Could always bump up iso.
I'm aware of the weight differences and I think I can live with 1.3kg of the X-H1 w/16-55mm.
Thanks in advance 😁
