  1. Lol what a thread. Nothing against Ken but his opinion is one in the sea of opinions out there. And if you've owned a Fuji before you know what you're getting into. I had an xt3/xs10 and traded them both in paid a small difference for the XH2. I could have easily used those for another few years but thought why not. I'll probably do the same in a couple years with the xh2 as well. I agree it's fairly cheapskate of fuji to not throw in a wall charger... charge us an extra $50 if you really have to. I bought a dual battery and charger kit off amazon, I'm sure I'll get a year or two out of it. If I was using it as a pro in a studio I'd grab the grip and move on... but still not a great look getting no charger in the box (I dont like HAVING to charge through the camera. I'll do it here and there but dont like the idea of it as a main source of charging). I used to watch his content quite a lot and I still use his glass cleaning methods on all my gear, man knows his stuff. He had all the chances in the world to play ball a bit and be a respected camera guy but he is who he is and wants to talk about what he wants to talk about. He's a bit nuts but at least he's honest. So while I dont watch his stuff now I'll always be a silent supporter of him, pretty rare to have a straight shooter on youtube. If you dont like his stuff its easy to not watch, but at least when you do watch it you know he's being honest (from his point of view). Anyway, XH2 is doing me well so far... the main 3 complaints/wishlists I have are - SSD support for video (dont make us buy antiquated CF cards) - Rear command dial assignable for ISO (completely baffling its not available) - Ship with a charger (not a dealbreaker just annoying)
  2. I'm surprised it doesn't exist already, was genuinely shocked when I picked mine up. I'll stick to the Ninja but it would be nice to have SSD support from USB-C direct for a run n gun setup. CF cards are very one dimensional to own in 2023 whereas SSD's are much more versatile and cost effective, it's a bit antiquated to use CF imo.
  3. Hs65 files are "delivery" files and are hard to handle for any editor. Its like opening a .rar or .zip file and then doing a bunch of photoshop edits on it, its just not optimised at all for editing. Chucking horsepower at the problem may help, but the nature of the filetype will probably cause problems quite often, even high specc'd machines can have trouble with them. Doing optimised media helps because it creates a file thats not compressed and good for editing, the downside is the waiting and constant clearing of temp cache on your hard drive. If you're doing a lot of shooting I'd grab a CF card and shoot in ProRes, it wont have the problems H264/265 files have, its a proper editing codec and will be handled much better when editing. CF is an annoying format to shell out on but if we're this deep with the XH2 then you might as well maximise it with ProRes over CF.... or ProRes RAW / Blackmagic RAW via an external recorder.
  4. I dont mind that the rear dial isn't pushable, but we should be able to assign ISO to that dial. In Manual the rear dial is used to change Aperture when the lens is set to "A". If the lens has the aperture set manually then the rear dial does nothing. I (and many others) set the aperture manually and therefore the dial for us is useless. If we could assign ISO to it then we can resume our shooting style the way its worked on all XT, XH and XS10 before this, super puzzling it's not assignable on the new cameras.
  5. I know this is old but yeah its pretty tight, hoping it gets some give with time
  6. Signed up just to bump/+1 this request. It makes no sense to not allow the assigning of ISO to the dial, very bizarre / anti functional that this works on all xt / gfx / xs10 / xh1 cameras but not the new XH line. It should be a simple code update, it's borderline stubborn if it's not added in. I'm currently using the up/down buttons but its not as smooth a experience when you're looking through the viewfinder to then press buttons one by one right up against your face to change the iso increment by increment. It's so quick to just turn the dial and get where you want in a snap.
