  1. Some cracking shots on this thread.. really whetting my appetite... may have to get one!
  2. Anybody else found that when they shoot video with an external mic attached, that it reverts to the camera mic? I was trying to test some audio set ups and because I was just shooting myself for the tests, I used the app at first to get the focus etc as I wanted with ease. I had to revert to doing it without the app as the sound wasn't working as I set it up. Once I took the app out of the equation I got the sound from the external mics, as I had set it up. Surely it should have just recorded correctly with the app. I found one post online about this but nobody had answered the chap, so here goes... The video I did to test it is here (but is mostly irrelevant as it's the version that worked, though i'd gotten tired by then and so some of the focus is out and by then my MBA was on and shining on my face ha) https://youtu.be/n9TyTdvQ-yk (yes I know most people hate that it has video capability)
  3. I'm after this connector, it comes with the Fuji Mic ST1 but seems nigh on impossible to get it online, so i'm reaching out to see if you guys can help. I have a similar connector for my gopro, but of course the usb used is different, though I found out it isn't just Fuji that use it. I really just need the usb connector to use other microphones on these cameras:
  4. I love ultra wide... love it. I had the 24mm 1.4 on my nikon d600, still own a sigma 14mm 2.8 and before that I had a Nikon fish eye. So the widest I've got at the moment on my fujis is the 18mm. A friend has the 10-24 and it is super nice.
  5. I use my Fujis for weddings too. Moved over from Nikon gear. Still have the D600 with a 50 1.4, 85 1.4, 14mm 2.8, but am in the process of selling most of my lenses - Loved the 24 1.4 but no need for it now. So what I usually take to a wedding shoot: Fuji X-T1 with 18mm f2 on it. Not the most popular lens for the internet warriors, but I love it. Fuji XPro-1 with 56mm 1.2 on it. Awesome combo. https://youtu.be/EesMX4_EDLw Nissin i40 flash. I only use this when I have to for the first dance. Most weddings I've been able to get away with zero flash over the last few years. https://youtu.be/00FheRhSPTI In the bag I keep a 35mm 1.4 and an X100s. I have shot with the X100s at weddings, at the bridal shoot and really it's a winner. I only use it for 10% of the images if at all but it's definitely capable. The Nikon D600… well I still have it for certain corporate work, sometimes the speed light just works a lot better when I have portrait work that requires additional lighting. I do love the Nikon FF stuff but the Fuji has just been so good, the image quality, the weight and the size is just spot on for me. Oh I have legacy lenses and adapters to use Nikon, M42 and PK lenses with my Fujis too. Love it. https://youtu.be/XdkhFi9BifQ
  6. Massive bargain at the moment. Annoyingly as the thought crossed my mind of selling mine to get a second x-t1 or even the xt-10. Saw the trade in price and couldn't justify letting such a great camera go for so little, after so little time. I'd say grab one!
  7. Having realized there is only one specific mic that we can use for the Fujis that only have the fuji usb port and no 2.5 jack, I set about trying to make an adapter work. No joy Has anybody else managed to find or put together an adapter that can let us use external microphones with our Fuji cameras? Thanks
