Cannot get Framing Guidelines to appear

Not sure what I did, but the grid now appears. -
Per page 196 of the manual, I have grid 9 selected. And on Screen Set-UP > Disp. Custom Setting, I have Framing Guideline checked. But no framing guidelines on the LCD or EVF. I even went back to the default settings and retried but no luck. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
