Sany got a reaction from Lukas 108 in Live view shooting with Android phone
I can understand the frustration and I believe this is how it is. 'Pal2tech' has expressed his frustration in his youtube channel. What surprises me is that the video is made long ago and any company would have tried to fix this. But I see this is not the case for a popular company like Fujifilm. I still see this connecting issue haunting us. It happens to me all the time. When I connect to the remote app, I am able to use the app to execute the shutter like a charm. But you take a while on other chores in your camera or on your phone and return back it will try to connect again. This is terrible in an era dominated by software, is Fujifilm running short of software engineers?
Or maybe there is some workaround that has fixed this issue!? (which I never knew). Pal2tech has suggested a faster way to connect to the remote app from the 'preview photo screen'. Try that video, you might learn something new.
Anycase the issue and frustration remains.

Sany got a reaction from jlmphotos in Pancake lenses!?
Thanks @cpX for these. I will see how they look. @jlmphotos thanks, yea I do like the size - the reason why I asked the question was to see if I could anything in the range of 23mm (so it will be like a 35mm Full frame FOV). I will continue to follow the 27mm until I am convinced :).
Is there a separate thread somewhere for sample photos for 27mm F2.8 - I am sure there is. I have seen images based on subjects (forum). If there is not, it will be great to create a thread for each lens. I have seen this in 'Pentaxforums'. This gives an idea of the capability of the lenses as they are handled by amateurs, hobbyists to professionals. I recently created one for 23mm f2.

Sany got a reaction from Jim White in Focus help with TT Artisan 50 mm f/1.2
Hi @jerryy - just to clarify, are you referring here to 'focus peaking' or is there some other setting that you are referring to to see the dancing pixels? I am having the X-S10. Thank you.

Sany reacted to jerryy in Focus help with TT Artisan 50 mm f/1.2
Yes, yes I am referring to 'focus peaking'. It takes some practice, but it works well for me when I am using manual focus lenses (or auto focus lenses in manual focus mode).
Once you get used to it (or any of the other techniques) you can become fast using it and, if you are careful, you can get the focus very specific beyond what auto focus gives you. For a lens with such a shallow depth of field (f1.2) that Jim White is wanting to use it with, sometimes the auto-focus box will be very close, but manual focus will be right there -- if you can get it to work.

Sany reacted to Greybeard in Photo preview after photo is taken? only via the playback button?
OK there are two things here:
- you are seeing the File Storing message because you have Clarity set to non-zero - if you don't like the message change the clarity setting
- if you want to always see a preview of each image after its has been taken there is a menu setting:
Set-Up -> Screen Set-Up -> Image Disp.
You can set it to display the image for 0.5 sec, 1.5 sec or continuous until you dismiss the display

Sany reacted to Greybeard in Film Simulation Setting: Custom FS setting vs Overall Custom Setting
Customization on the X-S10 is completely different from other Fujifilm X Series cameras.
It's best to ignore tutorials written for those other cameras.
The X-S10 doesn't have specific film simulation custom settings in the same way as the other cameras.
But the good news is that the four custom settings on the top dial of the camera are both easier to access and give much greater flexibility. They include the ability to store not only the image quality settings (normally considered as film simulation) but also many other settings.
You lose three custom slots but gain much more customization and ease of access with the top dial.

Sany reacted to andrei89 in Fujicell NP-W126 in a X-S10
there is never a direct voltage transfer from the charger to the battery. there is always a charging circuit in between to manage everything. the second part though makes absolutely no sense...
the differences in charging times you are seeing are due to the power (voltage x current) the chargers can deliver. DPReview had a quite good and comprehensive video on their youtube channel explaining all the PD protocols. better check that one out

Sany got a reaction from jlmphotos in IBIS - Shooting only or continuous
Thank you @jlmphotos and @Greybeard for confirming.
@jlmphotos it is only me trying to protect my new toy from getting tired running the IBIS all time and make it age too soon 😄
@Greybeard thank you for confirming now I am relieved and no have to keep that thought nagging behind my head for a blurry low light photo.

Sany reacted to jlmphotos in IBIS - Shooting only or continuous
I believe it is - even if another button is assigned for focus. I have mine set to Continuous as this helps stabilize the image through the viewfinder when using a longer lens on. The difference in battery usage is not worth not having it on all the time.

Sany reacted to jerryy in Switching between manual focus and autofocus lens quickly
Welcome to the forum.
1.) Those are optional values, you are not required to enter them. The camera will work with the lens regardless. That information will be entered into an image’s EXIF tags along with other data when the images are stored on the sd card. You have the option of having up to six different manual lenses’ information stored in a handy spot by the camera and you can switch between them as you want. You are not entering the f-stop (aperture number) though, just whether the lens uses f numbers or t numbers (cinematic lenses use t stops rather than f stops). If you do not enter any information, then when you use a manual lens, the default information will be put in the image(s) EXIF data tags.
You do need to tell the camera to ‘shoot without lens’. This is a menu setting you can turn on or off. Leave it turned on for the most part. The camera will automatically switch between Fuji lenses and manual lenses and enter the EXIF on its own. Which I believe is what you are asking in 2.).
