Again, not true. What the APD filter does cannot be solved with a longer focal length.

As said, it requires specific conditions all coming together to benefit from it. With indeed shooting at F1.2 being one of them, but that is all part of the deal, and most people that buy such a fast lens will want to use it wide open! I'm not saying everybody should get the APD version if they could, more like the opposite. Only do it if you understand its perks! But as to the reasons why, there is just too much false information going around, clearly.

You could get overwhelmed if you attempt to use all of these features but you don't have to use them so you don't need to create the confusion that you're talking about.   Instead just use what you want.   Nothing has changed with the focus modes or the drive modes and it's easy enough to add the tracking modes to the Q menu or to a function button.   If you want to use face detection or ES then you are adding a layer of complexity but I consider ES to be a special situation feature so I don't know how often you need to mix that with the tracking modes.    And I'm not sure how effective face detection is anyway so maybe it isn't much of a factor.

For me I have tracking modes, shutter type and face detection next to each other in Q menu.   Shutter type stays on MS and face detection stays off almost all of the time so I'm just changing drive mode and focus mode as always and then tracking mode for the times I need zone focusing.   It's really easy to manage and not a big change for me and on the rare occasion that I need ES or face detection I'm in AF-S single point anyway.

MrJones got a reaction from Eva in X-T1 FW 4.0 BETA: I have it and share my findings soon ;)
A good example of what?  Reporting to a forum just like hundreds of people do every day with official firmware?   These people aren't part of a user group reporting their findings to Fuji.   The only thing an inaccurate report of a bug will do at this point is give some ammunition to those that desperately want to turn this whole leaked firmware thing into something dramatic because otherwise there just isn't any real drama to report.   But there seems to be plenty of made up drama from user error to your camera might blow up or Fuji might put you into leaked firmware prison or you'll never be able to use your camera again and I'm sure I missed a few others.
