jeanmareaux got a reaction from flysurfer in X-Trans vs Bayer
Here's a comparison test between two CFA with new Adobe method. Sorry, written in hungarian, but click to pictures bravely
And a previous test: old Adobe X-Trans method vs new one.

jeanmareaux reacted to Tom H. in Portraiture work, running topic
Had a productive day with a nice model and a great make-up artist. Fun at home during the worst summer storm in years :-) More from this set to follow as I process them.
Fuji X-T1, 56 1.2 APD. Classic chrome and some skin minor editing in Photoshop, although the sooc also looked perfectly acceptable.

Hi all,
I got into the Fuji system after using a Micro-Four Thirds system for a while. For portraits, the sharpness, skin tone rendering and level of detail is incredible, certainly when adding flash...
Some of my more recent work, if admins approve, I'll keep this post updated as I process new shoots. Started doing portraiture in November only, so there will be some progression hopefully over time
Gear used up to today, together with generic speedlights and modifiers.
X100T
X-T1
56 1.2 APD
50-140 2.8
16 1.4
First post is my earliest work with the Fuji system. Three shoots I did in December.

jeanmareaux got a reaction from flysurfer in X-T1 ES vs MS dynamic range
I made a short test of dynamic range is ES and MS, sorry, written in Hungarian but if you click on galleries you can see the comparison.
I might say that forget the e-shutter, but this is not that simple. If you are a landscape, or astro photographer, use a good old mechanical shutter. A new generation of Sony sensors have significant detail from the shadows. But if you photograph people, however, then feel free to use the e-shutter. The nuances of facial skin is not good for the brutal level of post-processing correction, not a coincidence that Fuji DR200 is only going to set up automatic (equivalent to 1 EV plus used).

jeanmareaux got a reaction from jeremyclarke in X-T1 FW 4.0 BETA: I have it and share my findings soon ;)
C-AF, Zone, 5x3 and 3x3 PDAF mode. And CH burst. No face detection of course, face detection is so useless on 4.0 too
The Zone C-AF requires a bit of patience Do not release the shutter immediately, just keep pushing halfway the release, leave a little time to find the "target". After that it will track your subject relative succesfully depends on lens and the complexity of scene. No other object in the field zone? Success. Too many object? Error.
Never will be 100% of the shots in focus, but I think this C-AF zone is fantastic... specially with "old-man-slooow" AF 56/1.2. I never had a MILC that was capable to track my dog.

I love the new zone C-AF
Our beloved speedy boxer, X-T1 beta 4.0 and using the slowly 56/1.2 almost all pictures. OOC all, no crop, simple Pro Neg STD -1 shadows, -1 highlight.
