  1. Another possibility is that they only use the better charging abilities of the USB 3.0 protocol. Hence why they wouldn't need the full size port. I guess we'll know soon enough anyway Thanks for sharing your experience anyway!
  2. @FujiGlitch, what color is the body underneath the scratch exactly? Is it a kind of white/grey plastic like on the X-E1, or a more metal/silver color? With the processing on the photos it's a bit hard to tell I think with an aged leather it would look very nice!
  3. It's probably not the most interesting feature anyway, but there is no USB 3.0* from what you said. If it looks like a Micro-B, it's USB 2.0. Here is what USB 3.0* Micro-B looks like, you can't miss it because it's really wide and there is a distinctive notch: http://img.dxcdn.com/productimages/sku_172255_2.jpg (I'm putting a link to copy/paste, otherwise non logged members can't see the pictures) Some people are selling USB 3.0* A to USB 3.0* Mini-B, but that's pure scam as there is no Mini-B compatible with USB 3.0* speeds. * We should be saying USB 3.1 Gen 1 and not USB 3.0, but let's not make the USB consortium proud of themselves for this really confusing renaming ^^
  4. I like it a lot, well done! I'm a big fan of worn out items, and jlmphotos is right in saying that most of our actual electronic stuff won't get used long enough to get this kind of look from use only. I bought a second hand X-E1 which doesn't look good at all when scratched though, just boring dark grey under the scratched light grey. I would like to see a "real color" photo of your modification if you don't mind, perhaps I could go with a black camera next time if the scratches are more aesthetically pleasant! On the other hand, I hate scratches on some of my electronics, like laptop, smartphone, tablet. For this old look, I go with leather cover on my phone which takes every ding and scratches, and the mix of brand new screen surrounded by worn out leather is somehow fascinating. Anyway, to each their own, and keep the photo coming!
  5. @duncansebastian : Do you have a filter on your lens? I remember that with my X100 close-up magnification would bring the lens forward, almost out of its "barrel", and it could touch the filter. The X100 then have to be restarded. Not sure it's your case, but it's worth mentionning I guess.
