    Sorry Guys and Gals,
I have no idea how to post an image here, so how about I just leave a link to [/url]OBX_X-T2_7940.jpg by Jorge Moro, on Flickr">one image I'd love to show here, on my (new) Flickr Account -- because I could not remember my old PW...

I second that. I want a quick way to change af = shutter on and off and exposure preview in evf on and off, neither which are selectable on the q menu or on fn buttons.

The ever recurring thread. It will go on endlessly between those who view images on a pixel level vs those who view images normally. The pixel peepers will become personal and abusive and the photographers will respond in kind. Pixel peepers will fight among themselves over alternate software, each promoting their favourite, with contempt for the others who don't see the difference.

As the thread finally winds down, someone else will blame Lightwave for waxy skin and it will begin all over again.

Welcome aboard!  I came over from the Nikon world.  I was a Nikon(er) for the longest time, but Fuji won me over.  I find the noise at higher ISO's much less objectionable than those of Nikon -- and I tried cleaning the Nikon NEF files up in Capture NX2, and other apps.  Just not to my liking.  I do miss the lightning fast auto-focus though, but I can live without that.

Anyway, welcome to our little world.

    Best,

I only use TWO dongles, both hanging off the left side of the camera.  This way the camera dangles off my right hip very comfortably.

It looks to me like you are seeking attention in an unhealthy way. I am afraid we cannot help you.

Drown your gear, if you like, but above all, find someone who can really help you. I wish you all the best!!

jlmphotos got a reaction from sidelocke in 16-55 vs Primes
I've always been a zoom shooter but I have to say the Fuji primes are amazing.  With that having been said I do own the 18-55 (never leave home without it) and the 55-200 (almost never leave home with out it)  In order not to be redundant, in my signature block below you can see what other Fooj lenses I own.  Anyway, I considered the 16-55 2.8, and I also considered the 10-24 F4 but in the end they were too large, and too heavy for me.  After shooting for years with Nikon gear, and carrying around the Nikon trinity of lenses and some medium format gear, my personal choice was go stay light.  and that is a promise I made to myself and one I intend on keeping.  So far, it has worked out tremendously for me!!!!  I am having more fun than ever!  My images are more fluid.  Yes, I gather a ton more dust and dirt but who cares?  Nothing a good Giotto blower, or a wet cleaning can't take care of!  And knock on wood, I've yet to drop a lens so I'm not going to worry about that.  Though, with that being said on a destination wedding I shot in San Juan Puerto Rico I did manage to drop not once, but twice my D700 with the Nikon 24-70 F2.8;  Once inside the El Morro Fort on solid concrete (camera and lens still worked fine but destroyed my grip) and the second time, the next morning, shooting the "trash the dress" on the beach in wet sand (camera still worked fine).  That just happened to be the last wedding I photographed, destination or local.  Two days, 19.5 hours, heat, humidity.  Done.  Retired. Been doing weddings since the mid-eighties and I literally and figuratively retired.  Now I just shoot stock for travel and magazines/books.  Anyway, I like to keep it light now.  My two cents my friend.  Good luck on your decision.

Besides the fact the 23 F2, the 35, and the 50 are all butt ugly (IMHO) I own the 23 1.4 and to me it's very neutral, and clinically sharp.

I must admit I have not really sweat much about the 80 mm because the Fuji Extension Tubes do work so well with the 18-55 and 55-200.  I also own the 60 mm and 16 mm and both of those do an outstanding job as well.

So when it comes to the 80 mm, while I am VERY interested, if the specs or pricing don't cut it, I will pass.  I am doing quite well with what I have, but I am also interested in something only if it extends my current abilities and at the right price.  I believe the 80 mm will do that but only time will tell.

If you want to wait, I suggest some inexpensive Extension tubes off Amazon.  I use them with my 18-55 and the 35 1.4.  Just a few weeks ago I bought on a terrific sale the 60mm 2.4 Macro -- even though it's only 2:1 reproduction ratio and I am thrilled with it!  Though I will say my 16 1.4 I think focuses CLOSER than 60mm, but a totally different perspective.

So, do you call "photogenic" to shot with a glare in your frame? do you really like it?
I all the time guessed I had to avoid the sun hitting my lens although it was not in my frame, just to care a little about the final picture, you know...

Why not just get a video camera?  Seriously.  I would rather fuji work on developing better still photo features, like my 5:4 crop request, and other lenses than screw around with video.  But, that's just me -- I have yet to to press the record button on either my 3 year old X-T1, or my -2... So, take that with a grain of salt.

the 60 has much versatility and you will use it for close up photography as well as for portrait.

As for adapting I have lots of adapted lenses and they all perform very well, lenses above the 1.4 to 1.2 are very soft fully open but as soon you stop them down to 2 or thereabout they are as sharp as a needle too.

jlmphotos got a reaction from Maui in What polariser should I get for my X-T2?
As you'll note in my signature down below i own various lenses.  Each has it's own filter size.  However, having come over to the light side from Nikon Full-frame all my filters are 77mm in size.  So, I have a step up ring from whatever lens I'm using, up to the77mm.  So, on my 18-55 which is 58mm, I have a step-up ring from 58-77, etc. etc.

As far a filter brands I've always gravitated to the Singh-Ray brand.  They are pricey, but are just amazing.  They also offer outstanding service and/or replacement policy, which I put to good use once.   Other brands could be Hoya,  BW, Tiffen. I have a Hoya Circular Polarizer that is older than dirt and it still works and does an amazing job!

To me, the main thing is to standardize on a size (77mm in my case) then build around that.  Many folks, and you'll probably here from many here use the Lee system.  To me they are way to over-priced, and almost never in stock.

If you are planning on using any filter with a wide-angle lens, try and get 'thin' filters, and thin step-up rings;  doing so will avoid the vignetting where you can see the filter in the four corners of your image.  This is an advantage to using the larger, square Lee (and other) system but again, easily preventable.

Whatever you get:  GET QUALITY filters from some of the brands I mentioned above. You've spent hundreds and hundreds on Fuji lenses, don't cheap out on polarizers (or any other filter you place in front of your tack sharp lenses).  If you take care of them, they will last a long, long time.

    Hope that helps.  Good Luck
