  1. The firmware loader will not let you go to an earlier rev. The same or newer only. I have the power problem too, and sent my camera to Fuji. They say the power board has to be replaced, and it will cost $400 with tax and shipping. This feels like a hardware compatibility issue to me (I’m a firmware engineer). I have probably the earliest board revs. I asked if they might fix it in the next release, or if could downgrade my camera to 3.00. Both answers were “no”. I’m pretty upset. Pissed. Disgruntled. It’s now going to be a $2000 camera (when I can afford to fix it).
  2. My xp2 did the same thing going from 3.00 to 3.11 (and 3.12). I tried reloading multiple times, including a fresh copy. I sent it in to Fuji Repair, and they said the main power board has to be replaced, at a cost of $400 with tax and shipping. As a firmware developer, this feels like a hardware compatibility problem to me. I was an early adopter and probably have the earliest board revisions. I asked if they would attempt to fix this in a future update, and also if they could revert my firmware to 3.00. Both answers were “no”. Needless to say, I am pretty upset. It means I am paying $2000 for this body. Pissed. Disgruntled.
  3. I'm using SanDisk cards in both slots, a 280Mb in 1, and 95Mb in 2. Curiously, There is no difference in speed between "Backup" and "Sequential". Shooting RAW+F, I get about 17 shots either way in 8fps burst mode before the buffer fills and the camera backs off.
  4. Thanks, guys! Those answers all make perfect sense. On my old film cameras I just remember setting to the hard stop for infinity. They probably weren't in perfect focus all the time!
  5. I was shooting at "infinity" with the 55-200 this evening, and I got tired of autofocusing so I switched to manual. My subject was a mountain 33 miles away. I got a lot of out-of-focus shots because the lens will focus PAST infinity in manual (unless 32 miles is not infinity yet!). Didn't know this. Beware... I haven't tried my other lenses.
