bought one of those cheap captures cards too. and unfortunately, if you look here https://digitalcamera-support-en.fujifilm.com/digitalcameraengpcdetail?aid=000004377&_ga=2.213085716.126150321.1625809367-493170385.1608101091 the camera can only output hdmi signal when in playback mode. I used the same site as reference before I bought the capture card thinking it will work with my camera.
