Canuck57 reacted to ChrisWebb in Proportion of people who have never had a problem
A large number of threads and comments here are from people who have some sort of reliability problems with their camera. I have owned about 30 cameras over the years (including 3 Fujifilm), a mixture of new and recent used, and have never had any problems, even with cameras I have used heavily over a long period of time.
I therefore believe breakdowns and malfunctions are very rare but the fact that people post about them gives a misleading impression. I don't know whether there's a way to create polls (if there is and I can't find it I apologise for my stupidity!) but if not maybe people might just like to comment here if, in their experience, cameras are actually extremely reliable.

The Angry Photographer sounds deranged.  I've never followed his reviews, and I'll make no effort to seek him out.

Ken owns every Fujifilm camera and most of the lenses including the Medium format line, if you wish to consider # of cameras owned as a guidepost to expertise.
You have a different view than Ken on the camera and I'm glad your happy with it.   Regards, GO

God I couldn’t even get to the end of the video. He’s so annoying and arrogant ‘I am always correct’. I never trust someone with that lack of humility.

Sounds to me like he can’t afford it.

Before you use a new SD card (or any SD card that may have been used/formatted in another device) you should always format it “in camera” (in the camera you want to use it with).
This will help ensure that the card’s format/data structure is compatible with your camera.
    Cheers!

    My suggestion is the X-E2S.
Great sensor, classic looking camera, rangefinder style body, great selection of features, small body & inexpensive.
The “S” also has no anti-aliasing filter which provides a sharper image over other models (like the X-E2).

You know, I'm still getting some great images off of my X-E1.  Its been my trusted companion for years and rarely lets me down. It will not be great for fast action, but if you are shooting anything else its just fine.  Sensor is not as dense with pixels as the new cameras, so you have to be sure on composition.
I can't even remember exactly when I bought this camera, but it was when I was a full time Nikon Shooter.  I wanted a small travel camera with interchangeable lenses and the Nikon offering at the time was really bad, 4/3 was super expensive and Canon hadn't even went there.  This was on sale for like $700 with the 27mm F2.8 and the 18-55 F2.8-3.5.  Couldn't argue, and at the price, was easy to just try it out.  Best decision I ever made - I can't say my absolute sharpest, most technically correct photos came out of this camera, but I can tell you that my absolute favorite photos have.
If you see this get it - you won't be disappointed.  And by the way the lower resolution actually makes for some incredibly beautiful black and white photos.

If you give the shutter button a half-push the focus box changes to green (when the camera af is on letting you know af has locked on to something) you may be able to use that idea to locate the box and then move it as you need to.
The idea is based on the technique called “focus and re-compose”. Essentially as you start to look through the viewfinder, half-push the shutter button, by the time you get the camera to your eye, the af should have the box color in green.

Other than the obvious… Facebook Marketplace, Craig’s List & Kijiji.
If you haven’t already, you may want to check out your local camera shop (if you have one).
…many will sell used equipment, know of people selling equipment or will have a “on the look out for/want to buy…” list
Local camera clubs are also a great source for used equipment.
You may also want to look at B&H Photo Video.  I believe that they have/sell used equipment.
Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

    Update.
I sent the camera to Fuji for repair last Thursday. I've just received it back. They replaced the front assembly under warranty, completely free of charge.
Just over a week including two bank holidays. Outstanding!
