  1. It connected fine to mine but I don't know what is meant by selecting a lens, the phone really does not care about your lens choice, just the camera body which should be the X-S10.
  2. I assigned ISO to the left top dial as my workaround in every mode that supports that, but really that's not ideal.
  3. I'd be curious about this too. Discussion threads generally end with "Fuji auto-ISO is broken so I don't use it" which seems unlikely to me, my guess is it's just documented poorly so we don't know the parameters.
  4. Coming from the M50 I was used to having a lot of online guidance for how to choose accessories for my camera choice depending on what my intended usage was. I've had to feel it out as I go with the X-S10, which does not have quite the widespread coverage the M50 had. I was noticing a lot of requests for items in this forum, often for simple functionality such as cable releases, eyecups and the like and thought it might be useful to start a thread sharing a few basic details about how we use our cameras, what we found worked well, what did not work out/was a waste of money, and links to where to find them. Hopefully this is helpful to others. Use: Photos only, no video Type: Portrait, candid, street, protest & landscape Eyecup: Tekiac Eyecup for X-S10 (a necessity in my opinion, good quality, does not interfere with the screen and looks good) Bag: Tenba Messenger 8 (for when I'm going out with a couple extra lenses/filters/etc.) Holster: Think Tank Photo Digital Holster 10 v2.0 (for when I'm going out with a single lens, usually protest or street) Plate: Smallrig L bracket 3086 (I use this with the portrait mode removed unless I plan to use a tripod) Filters: H&Y RevoRing VND+CPL (not available yet, got in on the Kickstarter, works well but isn't as tight to some lenses as I'd prefer) Strap: Peak Design Slide Lite w/Fujifilm X Logo (this comes in and out of stock) Tripod: Manfrotto Befree Advanced (goes on sale on Amazon every so often, very nice and easy to set up, generic Neewer Arca-Swiss plate works with the Smallrig fine) Pouch: Tenba Reload Battery 2 (this attaches to the back of the bag, I keep two spare batteries in there for easy access) One note: I am patient on what I buy, am willing to buy used, and usually have a price in mind when I add to a watch list/wish list. Any must have accessories for photos that I've missed here? Any alternatives to this setup that make more sense? What are you all carrying?
  5. Hey there! I did a bunch of research on this and the best one I could find was this one: https://tekiac.myshopify.com/products/x-cup-pro-for-fuji-x-s10-x-t10-x-t20-x-t30 This is extremely well designed and does not interfere at all with the screen. Ended up ordering a second one for my sister's X-S10. Really makes the camera feel and look more premium plus covers that hot shoe.
  6. You may wish to check again, Apple just added OS support for the X-S10 and several other cameras. https://www.fujirumors.com/apple-adds-raw-support-for-more-fujifilm-cameras-including-fujifilm-x-t4-and-x-s10-with-macos-big-sur-13-1-and-ipados-14-5/
  7. Just to update this, I believe this was just measured and published here: https://www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/PDR.htm#FujiFilm X-S10
  8. Thank you, this is what I was looking for and it seems to be about right. I don't know why they don't draw more amps from USB-C, possibly heat considerations I guess but I tested last night and in 1080p30 it ran from 9PM until 9AM and still had one bar left. Presumably 4k would have cut that time somewhat. So it seems your conclusion is correct that it draws just under 1A and thus can't run completely off USB. I have no idea why that is, honestly, seems like an odd design decision. Best performance for battery was the Anker PowerPort III which I use normally with my laptop, it's 60W and clearly can deliver a lot more than the X-S10 can utilize. It did max it out and was better than the generic and Apple USB-C chargers I used even though both are rated above what the draw you measured receive. Not sure why Anker did better, but it was significant. Link to that one here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S8SDD4D/ Thank you for this! Will have to decide if I care enough to go the dummy battery route, but thanks to others I have a couple options for that too.
  9. Thank you very much @CatsAreGods& @flamidey! I'm also experimenting a bit and I realized that with a higher amperage USB-C power adapter my battery life appears to go down far less quickly. I'm putting an actual USB-C laptop charger on it and tomorrow will see how long it lasts on that. It appears to me that it draws from USB-C first, and if that is not enough power it pulls the extra from the battery. The question is if it supports a high enough amperage via USB-C to not pull from the battery at all. Hopefully I will know tomorrow. Adding those two dummy batteries to my wishlist however in case I need them. Thanks again for the replies!
  10. Hey there, I was wondering which dummy battery you are using. The ones on Amazon commonly have reviews saying they don't fit correctly resulting in frequent drops in the connection, especially with the X-S10. The Fuji one appears not to be in stock anywhere. I'd love to know one that is proven to work with this camera. Thanks in advance!
