I am a photographer and a teacher of English. I am from Wisconsin but was raised in various countries and lived in Atlanta, UK, and other cities in our awesome world. I love photography, something I discovered during the Covid-19 Pandemic while living in Istanbul, Turkey. Taking photos of this storied and ancient city was my preoccupation of the two years I spent here, living alone and far away from my family and loved ones. It was during these trying times of solitude that I found photography as my best companion, one that allowed me to wonder through the city alone yet finding inspiration and joy in the beauty of the world we are consumed by and that we in equal measure consume. Life is short and memories can be lost. Photography helps humans remember that which would have been otherwise lost.  Taking photos and using a camera has been one of the most exciting and relaxing activities that I have ever done. I usually get high by running 10K +, the endorphin rush from running is something I get in the same amount from taking photos. These are my two addictions, besides being a consummate reader.
