A chinese manufactuer named viltrox released a 13mm f1.4 lens for Fujifilm, the price is only $469, seems a new remarkable lens is coming out for Fuji cameras!

That's what I hear - from Ken and others.  13mm = about 20mm in FF which is pretty nice. I used to have the Nikon 20mm F1.8 (I think it was) when I shot with my Nikon 800e's.  Now THAT was an excellent lens.

Angry photographer Ken Wheeler just did a review on it.
Says it is the very best and sharpest ever. Rates it a 10, only
complaint is the price he says which is high for  Viltrox
469 I believe and Ken said 360 more like it but highly recommended it as perfect.

Hi forum members! First post here, and unfortunately not a good one for Viltrox. My fiance purchases me an 85mm lens directly through Viltrox beginning of April 2021. We're now in June and the parcel hasn't arrived. Viltrox took 2 weeks to ship the lens after purchase, and to our surprise the lens was shipped from Dubai. Nonetheless, here we are 2 months later with no lens and Viltrox and FedEx are not taking any accountability for this. Not to mention, the customer service at Viltrox has been awful and not willing to help at all.

Has anyone had any similar experience with recent purchases from Viltrox?

Hey everyone,  Hope everyone is safe and well.  I'd like to know if anyone here has any experience with the Laowa 17mm F4 for the GFX system.  I'd like to know how it would handle on my 50R.  I've been looking at the Laowa in order to save about a grand over the 23mm Fuji lens.  Any input is appreciated.

Not to edit but sort and store?  I’m thinking googles Picasa might be out dated

Probably inadequate but I just use my windows file structure. I use the pictures folder and have it synced to OneDrive for cloud storage. Inside the pictures folder, I set up a folders by year and then a level down a folder with whatever description for the folder makes sense (baby shower, Asheville trip, etc). I run them all through C1 so they are cataloged by it also. Like I started with, probably inadequate but it actually works out fine for me.

For limited numbers of images (up to 100k or so), the Lightroom or Capture One Catalogue usually will do. If you work in projects -like I usually do- Capture One Sessions is a much better option. I can also recommend the DAM (Digital Asset Management) of ON1 Photo Raw as it keeps raw and jpegs nicely together when you cull them. For large numbers of images Photo Mechanic is by far the best. It's often used by journalists and other pro's who have to search for certain images based on content.
Either way, it's good to setup a file/directory structure on your PC/Mac that has some kind of system. E.g. per year/month/topic... before you load the images into a catalogue. And don't forget to backup...

I have a plethora of Fujifilm equipment. Here's my favorite. The original X100 was my entry drug. Moved from 30+ years of Canon use to Fuji in 2011 and never looked back.

My copy is smooth like other native lenses. Shouldn’t be too tight like you have to fight it.

Hi Bugernot. I look delivery of a Viltrox 56mm today. It seems to be a quite tight fit when attaching to the camera when compared to the 3x Fuji lenses I have which are all very smooth when rotating into place. What is yours like compared to Fuji lenses?

I highly recommend the Viltrox 56mm based on your list. I just got it and very pleased with people portraits. I think it's worth more than I paid for. You need to control for correct exposure and scene as it can be more prone to fringing more than fujifilm lens. I have the Fujifilm 50mm f2 which is very sharp with fast AF, but use it mostly for pet portraits. The 35 1.4 is wonderful too for wider portraits and general, shop around for used if $ is a factor. Good luck!
