  1. Thanks, problem solved! You are both on track about focus & zone, it was not a zoom issue. I learned that it will zoom in to the AF area if you press the rear command dial. Guess that's what I inadvertently did. Never would I have thought to explore that, but now I do see it mentioned in the manual. But who reads every line of the 288 page manual?
  2. I understand that this clunking sound is normal and I have read that this sound is the IBIS turning on/off. Elsewhere I read that it is the shutter mechanism opening and closing (I also hear the sound even when I have ES turned on and IBIS turned off). However, here's the issue: very occasionally it will quickly repeat 4 times in row when turning on the camera, and in addition, the viewfinder image flashes on/off concurrently. So is this clunk sound actually from the IBIS or the shutter? I need to know what causes the sound so I can determine whether or not this is a problem. If it's IBIS, could it have something to do with some kind of reset? Otherwise, the camera seems to function normally - at least for now.
  3. On a few occasions when I was setting up to shoot a subject within a few feet or so, the image in my viewfinder suddenly zoomed in to the subject, probably to maximum image at 135 mm. My view also included a small outline of a rectangle containing the entire original image and then a smaller outlined rectangle within that which contained the zoomed in portion of the image. To my knowledge I did not use any setting on my camera or lens to cause this and I was quite surprised to see this. Is anyone aware of this happening? I don't know if it could be some obscure function of the lens/camera or if there is something wrong with my lens/camera and it needs repair. My camera is X-H1. Thanks for any help.
