if the budget allows it, the fuji 80mm macro is unbeatable and often second hand under 1k€
with the remaining budget you could/should get a dedicated macro flash
the cheapest option would be an extension tube (or set)

mid way is the fuji 60mm, which can go to 1:1 with an extension tube

getting one of the macro lenses or an extension tube with electrical contacts would allow you to use the focus stacking feature in the camera, as opposed to going for an adapted/manual lens

lighting, however, is important in macro, so a decent front mounted flash is needed (even LED does a decent job)

owning every piece of gear doesn't make one an expert and it certainly doesn't make them a professional photographer. it just makes them a gear hoarder
i expect a flagship CAMERA to perform where it matters: image quality (video or stills), autofocus and whatever else it promises to bring to the table, in this case speed (fps, video or whatever). and in those aspects it surely delivers, judging from what RESULTS i've seen from actual photographers (sorry, but i can't take the guy seriously when all he does for 22 minutes is sit on his chair and fondle the camera saying how s*it it is). the MCS switch point has been made clear above.
when apple first removed the charging brick from the box everyone cried out and laughed. how long did it take for others to follow? 6 months at most for samsung and then all the others

seriously? the camera is a piece of junk because it doesn't have a charger in the box?
i guess then the only good smartphone is a cheap chinese one for having a charger and all the iphones and galaxys are crap...

I have the nitecore fx1. Really happy with it. Measures the temperature, charge voltage and current. Also gives an estimate of the health of the battery

but in all seriousness, the smallest ipad can easily transfer your images from the card to any drive. i don't have a laptop anymore and just use my ipad pro for everything. you'd need a card reader and if you don't have one with usb-c already i recommend you get one of the hubs with integrated readers so you can directly move files from the card to your drive. just make sure it's from a reputable brand as i got one once and was unusable because it was too slow

there is never a direct voltage transfer from the charger to the battery. there is always a charging circuit in between to manage everything. the second part though makes absolutely no sense...
the differences in charging times you are seeing are due to the power (voltage x current) the chargers can deliver. DPReview had a quite good and comprehensive video on their youtube channel explaining all the PD protocols. better check that one out

such a drastic shift in focus could only be an adapter issue IMO...check if your adapter has the latest firmware otherwise raise the problem to viltrox. you could check with a fuji lens just for confirmation, but i highly suspect it's an adapter issue

can you post the settings used for that particular image and what lens you used?

16-80 plus the 35 1.4…i add the 70-300 or the 50-230 (which is on sale since the 70-300 arrived) for my tele needs
not on the x-pro3 but on the x-s10 if it makes any difference

Same happens on my x-e3, canon M and m5. It’s an inconvenience but far far away from what you call a design disaster
it’s a limitation of small bodies. Some mechanical calculations were made and that ended up being the best support point

i also switched from a mirrorless canon to the x-s10, but from the M5
bags...too many bags...i never have the perfect bag...2 shoulder bags, 1 sling, 3 backpacks...
i also use a peak design leash for whenever i need to throw the camera over my shoulder, otherwise i attach a pd cuff
recently got a national geographic carbon tripod which seems really well made and goes up to 1.8m and it was only 100€
what is waiting in my basket on amazon is a set of 2 patona batteries, a nitecore dual charger and an L plate similar to the smallrig one but for half the price

the camera is quite new to the market and a different form factor from the regular fuji style of bodies so it makes sense that there aren't that many dedicated accessories yet, but this will change

It seems you need a fujica x to fuji x adapter
They’re not expensive, only about 25$

Take a look at the dicapac cases...you can also keep using the case when you switch cameras
have one since my canon dslr days and i can recomend it over other soft cases since it has a solid glass front cover

a circular polarizer should eliminate the reflections, if that's what you want
otherwise try using them to your advantage by moving around a bit to find shadows cast on the glass through which you can see inside

pixel shift would be nice to be able to get higher resolution files but from what i've read the x-trans pixel pattern makes it harder to achieve this compared to the bayer arrangement...
the GFX100 i think does have pixel shift but i'm not sure whether it's bayer or x-trans

i think there are still many more pure photographers out there (only interested in photos, that is) than hybrid shooters
however, the latter are quite vocal and the platform they're on - youtube - is encouraging video rather than photo shooting whereas photographers have many platforms on which to show their work but none are even at half the level youtube is at, meaning monetisation, encouraging originality, dealing with fraud and so on
that is why, in my opinion, all camera companies have to and will embrace video features to be able to sell their products (forget leica, they are too niche)...we who don't care about video just have to suck it up

    yes and no
IMO, sony started this craze for video specs in photo cameras - yes, canon 5d2 was the first to have decent video specs but sony kept pushing more and more outrageous specs. if a camera doesn't film 4k now it a POS, although the processing power needed to edit 4k is out of the reach of many people, not to mention that most people (including me) watch content in 1080
remaining competitive and relevant on the market now requires manufacturers to make, basically, hybrid video/photo cameras. reviews matter, if only a little bit, in a company's stock value. i really believe the widespread appreciation of fuji's x100v, for example, resulted in a stock price increase, and that's what matters ultimately
