  1. I got this error message with my XT-2 and 16/1.4 lens. I had dropped the 16 from a height of about 2.5-3' and then when mounted on the camera gave the "TURN CAMERA ON AND OFF AGAIN" message. Removing batteries etc did nothing to clear it. Then tried lens on my XT-1; same thing. Sent lens to Fuji Repair. cost $230 or so. Works fine now, but I have no idea what they wound up having to do.
  2. Sorry for the late update- Sent the i60a back to Minox USA, 2 days later they sent me a brand new flash. Great customer service, but I have to say I was a little put off by the flash dying like that!
  3. Chucktin, Nissin USA is serviced by Minox USA, they're in NH. They updated my i60a pretty quickly. I wish Fuji/3rd party flash suppliers would get on a similar page; my 160a with firmware update, now only works in TTL on my XT-2. My i40 only works TTL on my XT-1....
  4. Working a bridesmaids brunch yesterday, suddenly my new (9/2016) i60a started making this horrible "cracking" sound, the flash would charge (green light) and then make a popping/crack sound and the ready light would go to red and start up again. Sounded like it was shorting out- the noise was definitely electrical discharge or something, I shut it off and put it in my bag after removing the batteries. Hopefully it hasn't done anything to the flash circuitry of the XT-2! The camera seems ok, performed fine without the flash (thanks for the 56/1.2 in a dim room). When I got home I put batteries in it again, and pushed the 'on' button. Flash cycled up and when the green ready light came on for a second or two, it made the same (frightening) crack-popping noise and the ready light went back to red, and I was done! Shut it off, and have sent it back to Minox USA. I had the firmware upgraded to work with my XT-2 last month. Anyone else run into this? The bugger is this- I have an i40 that I use on my XT-1. But I can't use it on the XT-2 because of the firmware. So if I need to use flash, for now I'll need to use my XT-1. sigh. Bob K
  5. (Maybe I'm jinxed as the forum seems to have glitches on me too!)
  6. That's weird!! I'd written that in two weeks I've experienced build quality issues with my FujiFilm gear; My 56/1.2 (new) had to be sent for repair when the aperture ring suddenly jammed in the 'A' position, and now my XT-1 body (bought used) has developed a problem with the shutter speed and metering dial; they no longer turn smoothly but are sticking. If I turn the shutter speed then it can change the metering mode too! Wondering if anyone else is having quality issues.
  7. I recently went to Upper Antelope, and used the Rokinon 12mm f2 exclusively (you do NOT want to change lenses in that DUST BOWL!!) results i got were fantastic- the plus is that with the manual focus WIDE angle lens, I could zone focus, stop down to say f4, and know that my depth of field was going to cover. I also used auto bracketing of -1/+1 stops, so I got 3 exposures each time I pressed the shutter button. However, I *did* the "pro camera" tour, using a tripod, christ, some exposures were 10-15 seconds. And yes, regularly shot at ISO 1000-3200 with no problem. The mirrorless camera will let you get good shots at really slow shutter speeds hand held. ENJOY!!!!
  8. Friday I put my new 56 f1.2R lens on my Xt-1 (bought lens new from B&H in March) and, boom. Lens now won't come out of 'A' mode. Used it last Tuesday on portrait shoot in Manual Aperture and everything was fine; but now it's locked solid. Tried it on several bodies, nope, won't budge. Pretty sure B&H will assist me (waiting for email response) but, wondering if anyone else has had this trouble? Really aggravated, especially as I dropped my 10-24/f4 the week before and had to send that for repair.... Bob Keene Keene Vision Photography
