  1. Hello! I’m an architectural, commercial and stock photographer here in Mexico City. This year I’ve decided to expand into something that people have been asking of me: event photography. I’ve done events before, but always for architecture or commercial photography clients who ask me for it. I’ve only shot ONE wedding in my life, and though it was about five years ago, it came out pretty well. But now I did a christening and now a friend has asked me to shoot her wedding and this just adds itself to what I’ve been seeing for some years, that people want me in that, too! And since I love photography in pretty much ANY form, I have no problem expanding. So I’ll be taking on Sweet Sixteen (Which are actual XV parties here in Mexico), and other events, and later on, when I feel I’ve gathered more experience and hopefully have shot at least 5-10 more weddings as a second shooter, weddings. Sooo... in order to prepare myself for this new endeavor, I just bought a new X-T3 to go along with my existing X-T3. I also just ordered the 23mm f 1.4 as well as the 16mm f 1.4. And I already had the 56mm f 1.2 since I use it for fashion shoots, too. I got myself a Holdfast MoneyMaker on the way from Amazon, etc. so I’m pretty decked out for event photography now that I’ll be spreading out to not just my actual photography clients. So my question is, if I already have all these lenses, will the 35mm f 1.4 actually add anything new to the table? I know the 35mm f 2 is great, many people say that, and if you want to comment on that, you’re welcome to, but I want to know if the 35 1.4 will add anything new to event or fashion or portrait photography that the 56, 23, and 16 can’t do. Thanks for any and all help! Sergio Mendoza Hochmann
