  1. This is a post that was on DPReview that I didn't want to be lost because I come back to it every once in a while. Hope it's okay that I'm reposting it here. Just trying to preserve some of the info I've found valuable over the years before DPR is gone. I bought a bunch of accessories for my X-T30 a while back, and here's what I'd recommend: Grips: I'd recommend getting the Meiki grip. It's cheap, well-built, and works well to stabilize the camera. Available here: https://amzn.to/2XfOunx I'd also HIGHLY recommend this Lensmate thumb grip: https://amzn.to/2KmYhmf There's a cheaper thumb grip (available here: https://amzn.to/2q7w1NW ), but personally, I'd recommend the Lensmate grip if you can swing it. I felt like the cheaper one put more stress on the flash shoe since it didn't have a little pad that rested against the backside of the camera and I was worried about it causing damage over time. Flash: I'd recommend getting into the Godox Flashes. The TT350F is a mini-flash that's very well suited for the X-T30. It's smaller size makes it nice and portable. It's available here: https://amzn.to/2XgzB4p If you want a full-size flash, the TT685F is good and is available here: https://amzn.to/2NPJ6nR And with either of them, you can get this wireless trigger to use the flashes off-camera, which would be important for studio work: https://amzn.to/2rOxrx9 I'd also recommend getting a reflector pack, like this one, for a cheap way to augment your flash: https://amzn.to/32RANwf Batteries: I'd recommend getting extra batteries. Personally, I would not recommend the cheap wasabi batteries. But I've had really good luck with the 3rd party Watson batteries. In my experience, they are just as good as the Fuji batteries. Available here: https://amzn.to/376Zic0 I also really like the Watson digital battery charger. It's nice that it shows you how much power is left on your battery (and can even do this when you're not charging). Available here: https://amzn.to/33SKxYe Case/Bag: This is a very personal decision, but I've found the Lowepro Slingshot Edge 250 AW to work well for me as a sling. It has a built-in weather cover, it can hold the XT30 and 5-6 lenses, as well as some other accessories like a flash, etc. Available here: https://amzn.to/2XptIlu If you want a premium backpack to carry more stuff, check out the Tenba DNA 15 Backpack. Comfortable, premium design, good space, thoughtful and flexible: https://amzn.to/2NONQKA And if you want a smaller loadout, The Peak Design Sling 5 is a great option for the X-T30: https://amzn.to/2Xs0rGV Tripod: The Joby GorillaPod is a popular travel option. For the X-T30 you'd only need the 3k option available here: https://amzn.to/353cP2v Personally, I like the Pedco Ultrapod II better than the Joby Gorillapod as a travel option: https://amzn.to/376fQAW For something nicer, check out the Vanguard Tripods: https://amzn.to/2OfCpKL For studio work, you could get almost any tripod. I'd just recommend one that is Arca-Swiss compatible that would work well with the Capture Clip, which I recommend below... Straps/Etc: For a strap, I really like the Peak Design slide light. It's well built, comfortable, has easily removable anchor points, and is just the right size for the X-T30. Available here: https://amzn.to/2protVS For the X-T30, it makes a lot of sense to combine the slide light with the Peak Design Cuff strap. That way you can use the slide light if you're going to be shooting for a while, or leave the cuff on for just grabbing a few shots and not worrying about fumbling and dropping your camera. Available here: https://amzn.to/2XijYsW I also like the Peak Design Capture Clip, and it has the bonus of working well with all the other Peak Design accessories: https://amzn.to/32QQio6 Other accessories: If you want to try getting into macro, and you have a lens that will complement these, then I'd recommend trying these extension tubes, which are a pretty cheap way to give macro a try: https://amzn.to/33N3lrU I also like this soft release button: https://amzn.to/2NQD0Uj Just in case you get caught in the rain, it might be a good idea to invest in this storm cover, since the X-T30 is not weather sealed: https://amzn.to/35bJkf7 For a microphone, I like the Rode mics. Specifically for the X-T30, the Rode VideoMicro complements the size of the camera well: https://amzn.to/2KpJpnk This off-camera trigger is nice if you get frustrated trying to use the app to remotely trigger the camera. I bought it after trying to take a picture of my family including myself and getting frustrated: https://amzn.to/2OgjnnD I don't do a ton of videography, but for a gimbal, check out the Zhiyun Crane Plus Zhiyun Crane V2. Available here: https://amzn.to/37aBpAv Probably the most important accessory will be lenses, but I'll let you search around this forum for lens recommendations. Hope this is helpful!
