  1. Sorry, I'm not sure whether I have understood you correctly. Why would I want my newly purchased Nissin flashes to send-in for a downgrade, while I could have easily purchased the non-updated gear in the first place? Also I want HSS to work, which I know the old firmware (at least the i60A to my knowledge) didn't support. Or did you refer to the camera firmware downgrade?
  2. That's a very helpful summary, Bob. I personally wasn't hoping on any HSS hacks, but for those updated units to support HSS natively out-of-the-box. The misleading - if not even fraudulent - issue on Nissin's part is this: They still list the Fujifilm X-E2 model as being compatible with i40/ i60 flashes on their homepage, while shipping/ marketing the updated flash/ trigger units as being Fujifilm HSS enabled. While this 'might/ seems' to be true for the X-T/ X-Pro cameras, it certainly isn't for the X-E models. http://nissin.lekumo.biz/download/Nissin_Compatibility_Chart.pdf http://www.nissindigital.com/2017/03/high-speed-synchronization-function-upgrade-for-fujifilm-type-nissin-flashes-and-commanders-in-mid-may.html This story isn't doing Nissin/ Fujifilm any good and I hope they will both sort this out quickly. I've been waiting for some serious Fujifilm flash support since they entered the mirrorless camera market - still hoping for a X-E2 Kaizen miracle, to be honest. But just look around us ... the X-E3 hype is around the corner and I'm afraid for Fujifilm those 'quick wins' are more important than yet another X-E2 hardware update. I for sure won't invest in any Fujifilm portrait glass for the time being and that Nissin gear is going back tomorrow.
  3. I have purchased a newly updated Air1 + i60A last week (prior to having received feedback from Seller + Distributor, that HSS is supposed to work on X-E2). In short my disappointing results so far: it does neither work on-, nor off-camara on X-E2 (v4.00)!! Hapa-Team as German distributor has confirmed to me today, that the latest update has been installed on both units. Asked for the proper camera settings, I've been provided with some unhelpful X-T2 menu screenshots, while they didn't have any X-E2 available to test the HSS feature. A direct request at Nissin to clarify the issue has been made & answer is outstanding ... I cannot recommend purchasing the above Nissin products, if you want to use those on your X-E2 for HSS.
  4. Where do you got the info, that X-E2 supports HSS? I actually just have purchased newly updated Air1 + i60A (the one everyone raves about radio HSS) and I cannot get HSS to work neither on- nor off-camara. The official local distributor says, that according to Nissin this should work (but in order to help out can only provide X-T1 flash settings) - very disappointed at the moment.
