I have tried this function with some success with the 60mm macro lens, 35 frame 10 steps stacked in Zerene Stacker (attached image), I also ran a test going from step 1 up to eight each time 15 frames at f/3.2, the file is too big to post here but step one seems to be bigger than all the other steps!

Not the lens to use, I have the Samyang (Rockinon) 12mm f/2 for astro photography with the XT1, which incidentally is fantastic for astro work, I tried first with my 14mm, I wasn't entirely happy with the results so bought the Samyang.  Sample attached. EXIF 25s @ f/2 ISO 4000, Manual exposure and focus, bulb setting, remote, tripod.

Hope this helps, I have that lens that you used and have had no issue with it for normal photography.

    Sigh...

The ever recurring thread. It will go on endlessly between those who view images on a pixel level vs those who view images normally. The pixel peepers will become personal and abusive and the photographers will respond in kind. Pixel peepers will fight among themselves over alternate software, each promoting their favourite, with contempt for the others who don't see the difference.

As the thread finally winds down, someone else will blame Lightwave for waxy skin and it will begin all over again.

It looks like it is too dark around when you shoot and your auto ISO might be configured incorrectly. If you set upper limit to ISO 6400 and don't let shuter go below 1/320 with 35f2 you hardly get mis focused pictures.

    Hi folks,

The sunrise did not reach its highest point yet. It was 5:45 AM in the morning and I was already inside the photo hide, where I was waiting for the raptors to come down. I looked up to the dark blue sky and saw a big venue of vultures coming down. Soon, Griffon vultures and Black vultures arrived and start fighting for carrion. The Crepuscular rays didn’t cover the land yet and the dark vulture shapes were dancing in the darkness.

Behind the rocks a red fox appeared timidly, observing the vultures and looking for some carrion to catch. As soon as I saw the fox, all my interest was instantly focused on him. Watching a wildlife documentary is probably the closest experience to being hidden inside of a photo hide while wild animals are behaving in their own habitat.

The XT2 looks excellent for this sort of night photography, I am using the XT1 with a Samyang 12mm f2 lens with exposures of 30s or less at ISO 2500, our skies are darker here in Australia so the Milky Way really stands out well. Try using the clarity slider in Lightroom to bring out more detail in the sky, I find it very useful.

It appears Fuji is aware of this issue.  I own both the XT-1 and the XT-2 and just learned the new Firmware update to be out shortly will allow the XT-2 to go 15 minutes in "T" mode rather than just the 30 seconds allowed now.  I am overjoyed with this one!  Maybe a new firmware for the XT-1 will be out at sometime but I believe the XT-1 is considered a discontinued item so hard to say.

Beautiful colours, with the second image I think I would be tempted to crop just above the full blooms and a fractions below the first bud!
