I don't understand street photography most of the times. They're mostly just snapshots for me without any meaning, sold as art. Therefore I like most of sadaqat's and Conflan's pictures, since they have something funny, provocative or interesting in them.

20fps burst with AF checked 60 times per second without any viewfinder blackout is way better than X-T2

It has way more phase detect AF points, spread over much more of the image.

It has way better battery life despite having way more horsepower under the hood

The electronic shutter has no rolling shutter issues

    It has in-camera 5-axis IS

    It's full frame

Just because another camera comes out that's better than yours doesn't mean your camera gets worse. You can be excited for Sony and for people who will buy, use, and love the camera, all without having to hate your gear, or feel bad about yourself. The a9 is objectively better than the X-T2 in basically every objective way, and yet the X-T2 will probably do just fine taking nearly any photo you could want to take. It's okay. Take deep breaths.

    Hi all,

I'm interested in the 16-55 2.8 to replace my beloved 18-55, mostly because of the shallower depth of field and light gathering capacity at the long end. Are there any reviews, recommendations or experiences from people who have moved from the 18-55 to the 16-55? I'm really interested in the real-world differences and whether you thought the 16-55 is worth it (reviews seem to be very good, but so they were for the 18-55).

Btw, I'm mainly shooting events/people and outdoor. Thanks in advance for your responses!

Out of curiosity: How much do you use the 56 during weddings? I rarely dare to risk a prime during a wedding, unless I'm sure I won't need to change lenses (which is very rare with weddings)... It's one of the reasons for looking at the 16-55 for me.

My question: Did the focus improve in low light? My X-T1 struggles (takes long or fails to acquire focus) in low light situations compared to a DSLR and I'd like to know if we can expect a step forward in this regard. Thanks!

What surprises me the most is that some people, like the OP, report results as good as DSLRs, while others claim Fuji is still years behind concerning AF. Is that really just ignorance on the user's part...?

    Hi all,

I had been photographing for a couple of years as a hobby, when I realized (two years ago) that my passion was not there anymore. Previously I always would take my camera with me, just because there was the chance of getting a nice shot. That time was gone, and I didn't bother bringing my large DSLR with me, unless there was a clear "mission" to take some images. Then I stumbled upon the Fuji X-E1, and all of the sudden I wanted to have it with me all the time again. I liked the sound of the shutter, the aperture ring on the lens, the controls. The AF was way worse than on the DSLR, the dynamic range was not as good - but I liked to hold it and take pictures with it. It basically re-ignited my passion for photography. Since then I've switched to Fuji all the way and now have an X-T1 with various lenses.

I assume the time will come when using the Fuji cameras and lenses will be normal to me, and nothing special anymore. Old DSLRs already feel like dinosaurs to me, when I take them in my hands... Since I cannot (and don't want to) switch brands when my passion for photography is slowly diminishing next time, I'm looking for ways to keep it alive.

Do you guys experience this as well? Or do never get bored with photography at all? If this happens to you: What do you do to counter it? Do you try new kinds of photography, new gear, or what else? Do you just accept it and take a break from photography and come back later?

Looking forwards to hear from you!

It's possible using bulb mode (the camera exposes as long as you press the trigger). That has drawbacks of course (camera shake) so a cable release might be recommended. As far as I know the remote control app does not yet allow you to do bulb.
