    Welcome!

I cannot speak to the X-T2's performance in low temperatures. I am originally from Southern California and get chill blains when temps fall below 50 Fahrenheit.

    Hello.

I made a similar jump just a handful of months ago -- from Canon 6D to the X-T2. The Canon was fine enough - good image quality in a solidly built frame, but I found that I would rarely grab it due to size and the weight of the brick-ish L lenses I bought in a rush of neophyte enthusiasm. The X-T2 is such a lovely and inviting little creation I find that I always want to reach for it. My only gripe is that I underestimated just how much more battery power the EVF was going to use compared to a dslr's OVF. But, as you say, there's always something.

Thanks for the welcome, F_J_Woods.  I really loved my Canon gear.  I've owned several film based Canon cameras and many Canon DSLRs.  By the time I decided to try mirrorless, I owned a 7D MII,  a 5D MIII and mostly L (luxury glass) full-frame lenses. Canon cameras were very easy to operate since I had owned them since the late 1970s and they always felt good in my hands.  My only reason for switching to mirrorless was weight, size, and EVF.  Because I always like to have a camera with me and I also like to hike (or travel) with a camera, the bulkiness and weight of my Canon gear became a real pain for me (literally).  I use my Olympus gear more than my Fuji because Olympus is more compact and maybe a bit lighter.  I do like my X-T2 since it's quite light and the controls are easy to use but because it's sensor is an aps-c, the lenses can be larger--just like my canon lenses were.  The big difference though is that the Canon white lenses are still heavier so the Fuji shooting experience is more comfortable for me and I can carry the 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 in my hands for longer periods without feeling fatigued.  Some things that bother me about the X-T2 is the "sometimes" wormy grain, the slower autofocus tracking (even with the booster grip), and the fewer fast lens choices.  The Fuji 100-400mm lens is slower than Canon's 100-400mm and yet it is as large, if not slightly larger than the Canon lens.  Things like that bother me.  But, I still prefer shooting with the Fuji gear.  And something that I learned owning Canon gear for so many years was patience--camera companies really do want to improve their products and keep their customers happy.

When mirrorless can rival DSLRs as pertains to battery usage.

Some more shots from the beginning. Re-edited a while later since I beefed up my Photoshop skills earlier this year...

First shot in the series was what killed my 56 APD. Autofocus motor creeked and yelled throughout the session, and this shot was the final one before I decided something was seriously wrong... You can see the focus was missed, as turned out later were 98% of all shots from this session. I sent in the lens to Fuji and got it back a few weeks later. They changed out the autofocus motor, but problems were even worse after that. Sent it back a second time. They changed the whole optical assembly, and now it seems to have been fixed.

I often change view modes and it annoys me that I have to toggle between all those options when all I ever want to change between is two of them - EVF only and display. Would love if Fujifilm made it possible like custom screen setup to tick options on/off for views, so I can end up with e.g. my two favorite view modes only when I toggle between the options.
