  1. This difference is reproducible across multiple Fuji X-T2 cameras, and multiple Fuji & Rokinon lenses. Fuji's 50mm lens acts just like the Fuji 56mm in terms of color. I don't get it. Lens Info : 50mm f/2 Lens Make : FUJIFILM Lens Model : XF50mmF2 R WR
  2. Camera is Fuji X-T2. Manual focus, aperture priority, aperture f/6.3. White balance is in the default automatic setting, and is coming up with radically different solutions for the two lenses. Rokinon results are much more color accurate. Any idea what is going on? Settings are factory default except: SET UP > BUTTON/DIAL SETTING > SHOOT WITHOUT LENS : ON SET UP > POWER MANAGEMENT > PERFORMANCE : BOOST SET UP > POWER MANAGEMENT > AUTO POWER OFF : OFF SET UP > CONNECTION SETTING > PC SHOOT MODE : USB AUTO SET UP > SHOOTING SETTINGS > SHUTTER TYPE : ES MF/AF > MF ASSIST > FOCUS PEAK HIGHLIGHT > RED(LOW) Fuji "smart" lens: Lens Info : 56mm f/1.2 Lens Make : FUJIFILM Lens Model : XF56mmF1.2 R Rokinon "dumb" lens: Rokinon RK50M-FX 50mm F1.2 AS UMC High Speed Lens Lens for Fuji
  3. Boy, this is tricky. The following recipe locks the physical aperture exactly as I hoped. But I still (!) hear a motor moving somewhere in the lens every time I take my finger off the shutter button. SET UP > BUTTON DIAL/SETTING > SHUTTER AF = OFF SET UP > BUTTON DIAL/SETTING > SHUTTER AE = OFF SET UP > BUTTON DIAL/SETTING > AE/AF LOCK MODE = SWITCH SHOOTING SETTING > SHUTTER TYPE = ELECTRONIC SHUTTER Focus mode selector: S Lens aperture ring: f/11 Shutter speed dial 1/60 Push AF-L Shoot, Shoot, Shoot
  4. Thanks, Picturer. Unfortunately this did not do the trick. Goal: No movement of aperture motor before, during, and after photograph. What I tried: 1. Set camera to autofocus (Focus mode selector: S) 2. Set aperture to f/16 on the lens ring 3. Set shutter speed dial to 1/60 4. SET UP > SCREEN SETUP > PREVIEW EXP./WV IN MANUAL MODE = PREVIEW EXP./WB What happened: 1. Aperture starts closed at f/16 2. Half press: aperture goes full open, then part open (f/4?), focus beep, then back to f/16 3. Full press: shot is taken, no more movement of aperture What I tried #2: 1. Set camera to manual focus (Focus mode selector: M) 2. Set aperture to f/16 on the lens ring 3. Set shutter speed dial to 1/60 4. SET UP > SCREEN SETUP > PREVIEW EXP./WV IN MANUAL MODE = PREVIEW EXP./WB What happened: 1. Aperture starts wide open 2. Half press: aperture closes to f/16 3. Full press: shot is taken 4. Remove hand from button: aperture opens wide
  5. I'm trying to take manual shots without any moving mechanical parts. But I can't figure out how to disable and lock the motorized aperture. Any ideas? DESIRED Locking the aperture to a fixed position, so that I can take multiple shots without the aperture motor moving at all. CURRENT I put the camera in aperture priority, and select f/8 on the lens aperture ring. The physical aperture sits wide open. I half press the shutter release. The motorized aperture reduces to f/8. Full press takes the shot. Aperture moves back to wide open. CAMERA LENS Fuji X-T2 camera, Fujinon XF56mmF1.2 R lens. As far as I can tell, this lens has no buttons.
