Eventually I delete all of the raw files maybe after I've safely backed up the processed jpegs. Seriously, who has the kind of time to edit Raw files years from now? I've got 30 thousand RAW files eating up space on my hard drive from my Nikon and Canon days. Guess when I'm going back to re-process those babies? NEVER.

Look, I'm not going to bash you for your opinion, but it is confusing to me while somebody would seek out a forum post dedicated to shooting wedding photography with Fuji gear only to tell people that Fuji cameras are incapable of shooting weddings. Particularly when it's been proven all over the world that this has and is being done.

Hi Guys, I have faced the same dilemma and have come to this resolution for now:

    1. Shoot RAW+jpeg
    2. Copy all files to desktop
    3. Import ONLY jpegs
    4. Slight JPEG processing (if needed. They are already so good!)
    5. If I run into issues on any image, just go find that particular RAW file and work on that.

It works well for me now. Saves a lot of time, and I still can save the RAW files as an insurance.

Okay, this isn't really a rant, but I think that there have to be SOME photographers out there who will agree with me. First, a little history:

I've never shot film. Never. Now, that doesn't count point-and-shoot stuff, but I've never developed film, or ever taken a fancy at SLR film cameras or have any history with film. Here is why I say this:

I don't have any nostalgia or affinity to whether or not fuji cameras seem like film cameras. I don't care. All I know is that I like the cameras. I don't have a long, drawn-out story about how I used to shoot old Hasselblads or Leica's back in the day, and how the look and feel of the fuji quality reminds me of film because, well, it doesn't. I don't have any good memories of film. I was never given a film camera by my dad when I was 5, and I don't have great memories of smelling developer or whatever those chemicals are. I personally can't even tell the difference (on a computer screen, at least) between images shot with film and images shot with digital.

Call me crazy, but I just like Fuji cameras. I just like the dials and controls better than nikon or canon DSLR's and I just like the quality of color and how well the files hold detail in the highlights and shadows. I just feel like every great photographer who is shooting Fuji these days has this really romantic story about how they used to shoot film and how it led them to Fuji cameras. You know what led me to Fuji X cameras? Nothing. I just like them. Sadly, not an amazing story, but hey, it's true.

I ended up getting the 27mm in the end. So far, I really like this lens. The focal perspective feels very natural and it's quite responsive! Image quality is a good as most any x lens. I'm also surprised that I don't miss the aperture ring, but it makes sense with keeping things smaller. A perfect lens for the x-10 as well.

Ken Rockwell never actually takes a photo with his camera. He simply pre-visualizes one and it appears on the camera's Memory Card.

Just bought this lens for use on my xt-10. It makes the camera about the size of the 100 series. It focuses faster then the 35mm (which isn't hard to do), and the field of view is terrific for matching to what we naturally see. I was very surprised at how good it is. For mine refurbished on Amazon for 199 U.S. Dollars. Couldn't argue with that.

I think that when I sit back and weigh all of the pros and cons of Fuji vs DSLR or another kind of camera, it all comes back to the "fun factor". My X cameras are just so fun to use for both my business and my hobby. The ability to travel light with amazing image quality, great manual focus options (that's right, I said Manual focus), and simple controls are what keeps me grounded with satisfaction. Each time I reach for a dslr, I am reminded on how it can certainly do the job of the fuji perhaps better, it doesn't come near being as enjoyable to use. And when it's all said and done, if you don't enjoy what you do, however perfect or imperfect it may be, then what's the point?

abjurina got a reaction from PascallacsaP in Is XC 50-230mm identical to XF 55-200mm?
I own only the XF, but I can say that the OIS and faster aperture make it a winner and a much more versatile lens. I used to own the Canon 70-200 F4 non-is lens and then sold it because I could only find use for it outdoors in good light. Eventually I bought the IS version of the 70-200 F4 and it was amazing in the difference in where I could use it. When it comes to image quality, Fuji lenses will not let you down. The next question to ask yourself is how much use would you like to get out of it? If you only plan on using it in good lighting conditions at all times, then it would seem that the XC lens is a great deal. However, for more versatility in less-than-ideal lighting scenarios, a a bit better build quality, the XF is an even better bet.

abjurina got a reaction from jeremyclarke in XF56 vs XF90 - Your thoughts apprecaited
If I may add to the conversation: I have shot entire weddings with the 56mm (non APD) for any shot of less than 3 individuals and all candids at a reception. I never felt the need to want "more bokeh" out of those shots. They were just right. I've also been able to shoot 250 shots  of a senior portrait session wide-open at 1.2 without ever feeling like it wasn't close enough, etc.

In my opinion, if you are a portrait photographer, the 56mm feels perfect in terms of giving your subject enough space to be comfortable without being too distant from them. Not that 90mm would be too distant, but unless you have the space, 135mm equivalent length is pretty tight for portraits of anything other than headshots.

Just an update, but I shot a wedding last night again with my X-E2 and X-T1 and they both performed wonderfully. I still can't quite put my finger on the joy that I feel each time that shutter clicks on the X-E2, but it just feels so right.
