macabee got a reaction from Curiojo in A covert bag for traveling in cities
I tend to agree. If I was going somewhere that I felt insecure carrying a lot of gear, don't carry a lot of gear, I would use my X100T just take a spare battery or two, plus a couple of cards, I also wear a Domke vest [or similar] it is quite surprising how much you can hide in one of those, this obviates the use of a camera bag.
When I am 'street shooting' in a crowded place I have a Peak Design cuff strap as well as the camera neck strap.
Good luck and enjoy your trip

macabee got a reaction from Curiojo in Bag for X-T1 plus 50-140mm Zoom
For some while I have been using my Domke F-803 as by photo go-bag, but then I saw a very good deal on a ThinkTank Urban Disguise 40 V.1, at half the old recommended price, could I resist, not a chance.
Whilst the TT Urban Disguise 40 is only a bit bigger overall and a bit heavier, I do like the layout and the fact that it is constructed in ballistic nylon, with excellent YKK zips, to TT usual quality standard, I have used them before.
I went on a shoot with it today and I did not find it uncomfortable in the slightest. Using my X-T1 c/f 18~135 lens.
Is it the perfect bag, no, I do not think there is one, depending on what I need to use I have TT, Domke and Billingham and between them I may have the perfect combination.
Cheers

macabee got a reaction from SamS in Newbie - is X100T right for me?
The X100 series camera are excellent for travelling, mainly because you will not be carrying around lenses and then thinking which one should I use. Back in the day I would take two Rollie 35 cameras one with B&W film the other with colour slide film, never had a problem.
I use the X-Pro, X-T1 and I also use the X100s. I would only take the X100s on a trip, no need even for a camera bag all you need is a spare battery a couple of 8gb SD cards and charger, you want to take pictures not needlessly carry a lot of gear, check out David Hobby on the strobist blog http://strobist.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/on-traveling-with-your-camera.html
The X100s is an excellent camera the black version is available from http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=fujifilm+finepix+x100s&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ps
Good luck and enjoy your trip

macabee reacted to hrk in Third-party batteries
I have 3, EX-PRO batteries and they are as good as the originals (so far...)
They do a white version which are meant to be better too with surge protect and things.

macabee got a reaction from Curiojo in second body
I agree, I bought a second body, as they are such a great deal these day's. The advantage is that you can switch seamlessly between them without a second thought.
I use body 'A' with the 18~55mm lens and body 'B' with my 35mm f/1.4 prime for street photography, in fact this morning I am going out with my x-pro 'B' kit, 35 mm lens, spare battery & sd card in a Domke F-5XB all up weight 3.2 lb/1473g.

macabee reacted to dv. in Fujinon XF 35mm F1.4 R
35mm 1.4 is one of the best Fuji lenses you should keep. it's so compact, great bokeh. With 1.4 aperture, you can't go wrong.
