Got me a Pen F this month with analog controls like the Fuji X100 series.  I ended up with the metered model, the Pen FT though.

During most of my photography in the last century, 95% of my 35mm film photos were 28mm shots.
I wanted to recreate it so I bought the WCL-X100 and screwed it on, about a year ago.  I have never taken it off.  I quickly got used to the size and love the view.
So the Fuji lens adapter works for me, even though it adds to the size.  If you buy a used one and try it, you can probably re-sell it for what you paid if you don't like it.

I'm using a name-brand 720nm filter but it would take a few minutes to dig it up and the brand doesn't really matter.
I'm limited in the MB I can add directly and Flickr is down right now so I can't use links.  Maybe later.

    I have a X100S and an X100F.  I would love to have a Pen F too.

neal3K got a reaction from d-n in My first Fujifilm camera arriving today.
My two X100 series cameras (S later converted to IR) and F changed my life, photographically speaking.  I went from an occasional shooter, mainly on vacations to a photo nut.  And I love it.  I'm always thinking of where to go and what to shoot next. I don't always use the manual dials and buttons but when I need more control, it is so easy.
It is even better when you customize the settings.
I use ND and ISO on the front and Flash, WB, and Film Simulation on the back ring plus the quick focus button and magnify button.  I never use the Q button for anything.
If you enjoy yours even half as much as I enjoy mine, you will be thrilled.

Great photos and I totally understand your excitement.  When I got my X100s a few years ago, it totally transformed my interest in photography from mainly vacation shooting to active photography with planned photo shoot trips. My excitement still continues.  I later got a X100F and had my S converted to infrared.  Now I carry both.

If anyone wants more X100 Cuba shots, I shot my color shots with a X100F and my B&W mostly with my X100s infrared converted Fuji.

Speaking of Dynamic Tone (I dont have "fantasy" on mine), I like the effect of shooting certain subjects in dynamic tone, then desaturating a bit when editing.  I get the old-timey color postcard look.  But the subject is important to make it work.  Old buildings rather than nature, for example.

My X100s changed my photography life.  I went from a vacation photographer (mostly) to a photography nut.

After I had it converted to dual spectrum (infrared/visible), I bought my X100F.  The F is so much easier to use.  I get to compare the two a lot since I usually carry and shoot both with the S only set up for infrared now.

I just got back from a three week trip to Australia and was happy with my X100S (converted to infrared) and my X100F. (I had my iPhone for a back-up but the Fuji's were flawless.)

But I have not used interchangeable lenses for about 3 years* now and am happy working within the X100 limits.  If I need a wider angle, I just shoot a panorama and crop what I want.  Telephoto shots; I just crop what I want.  Since I rarely do poster sized printing and most is just posted on Flickr and emails to my group, a small section of the original images serves for a great telephoto shot.

*My exception is my Pentax 110 film SLR.  My other film cameras are Fuji GSW 690III and a Fuji G617 fixed lens cameras.  I didn't want to bother with film (and weight of the big Fuji 120 Film Cameras) on my international trip so the X100 digitals were perfect.

I have two X100 series cameras and look at lot of the other sections, partly because there is a lot of overlap in features.

neal3K got a reaction from Curiojo in X100F Rear Command Dial & Q Menu - scrolling activates selection
I'm glad to help a fellow Fuji fan.  As you suggested, I selected the custom settings and scrolled through C1 through C7 with the RCD.  No problem at all.  It went and stayed wherever I selected without the selector pushing in.

As I mentioned, I don't use the Q button but in testing it about a dozen times, it always opens the Q menu the first time.

I hope this is helping you decide what to do.

Yes, I am using RCD to move between the 16 options.
After I accidentally pressed the button, I found that if I rest my thumb on the camera and slide rather than just touching the button with my thumb, it works better.

I just tried it on my X100F.

On the Q menu, it is easy to rotate the rear command dial to the selection.  The first time I tried it I never accidentally pushed the button in.  The second time I pushed it in a couple of times while playing around but realizing it, it was quite easy to avoid and go right to my selection.

It is interesting how different features appeal to different people.  I am probably in the minority but I never used the Q menu on my X100s in about 3 years of use and I don't use it now on my X100F.

That would work for me.  And change the current function button on the top as just a programmable button, especially one that can pick movie, advanced filter, something else on the drive menu, or flash.

neal3K got a reaction from Nick05 in Fuji IR
I had Kolari Vision convert my X100S to dual spectrum, Infrared and Visible a couple of years ago.  I have to use a "Hot Filter" for visible light or IR filters for infrared.  I have hundreds of photos on Flickr and an infrared album there.  Look for Neal3k if you are interested.
Pros on my conversion - I can shoot IR as well as any adapted camera and still shoot visible.
Cons on my conversion - I have to always use a filter (although I do get a nice combined effect if I leave all filters off.)  Also my color balance with the Hot filter seems a bit different that it did before conversion.  Not a killer and worth having both choices.

I've tried filters on my new X100F and am not happy so I will just shoot with both cameras now.  It is worth the trouble for me since I love the results with both cameras.
