    Fine Art

Still life and fine art images taken with Fuji X-E1.
  2. That's probably the clincher for me. I moved from Canon to Fuji two years ago for street photography, fine art, landscapes. Everything except sports, for which I'm still using a 1D. These great images say the XT-1 is sports ready.
  3. Thank you, it is incredibly interesting to learn what you think Fuji should do.
  4. I have two X-E1s which I use professionally for fine art photography. Except for an initial experiement when they first arrived, I've never shot anything but jpgs with them. The Fuji jpgs, colours, contrast are better than I can produce in Lightroom even after much tweaking. I just apply a fine art preset to finish them the way I want them. So they save a lot of time and the file sizes are great to work with. Now if Fuji would just go full frame or medium format...
  5. Has anyone ever found a good Lightroom preset to mimic Fuji's classic chrome? I tried a couple - Classic Chrome and ClassicClone - but they didn't do it for me. X-E1s didn't get the classic chrome firmware update.
  6. This is an early rumour of course. But only a few months ago the Fuji suits were spinning a move away from no profit compacts to focus on the bigger dollar end. Full frame please. Two, right away. Might even get an end of line Sony A7 to see how it goes.

  8. Well spotted! It's the Dugald Stewart Monument, a memorial to the Scottish philosopher Dugald Stewart (1753–1828). It is situated on Calton Hill overlooking Edinburgh city centre and was completed in August 1831. Dugald Stewart was a professor at the University of Edinburgh, holding the chair of moral philosophy from 1786 until his death. The Royal Society of Edinburgh commissioned the monument and selected its site in 1830. The monument is modeled on the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates in Athens, Greece and is a circular temple of 9 fluted Corinthian columns around an elevated urn. This example of the architecture of ancient Greece had been brought to wider attention by James "Athenian" Stuart and Nicholas Revett's illustrated survey, The Antiquities of Athens, published in 1762.
