  1. Bought my X-Pro 3 from B & H last November (2019). I haven't even taken it out from the house all this time, so no photo shoots. I rarely power it up. Still on the 1st battery, but a couple weeks ago, I powered it on just to check the status, and it flashed low battery icon, then shut off by itself. I plugged it in last night to charge (odd, that the charge light is green? Thought it would be red until completely charged). Today, the camera wont power on. I tried the trick where you remove the battery while the power switch is on, then put the battery back in, but no luck there. Dead circuit board? How does a camera crap out when it is never used? Does anyone have any suggestions, other than shipping it in? Do battery chargers work better than the USB cable route? - Thanks.
  2. The X10 was my first venture into Fujifilm cameras. It was awesome, fast to turn on, & LOVED the collapsable zoom lens. (I hate the fake "Digital Zoom" aka crop of the X70.) The viewfinder I appreciated, but found the hot shoe attachment variety of the X70 was beautiful to look at and to look thru! (yes, I would dream of a green focus confirmation overlay in the optical viewfinder; certainly the technology is out there for a small camera like the X40?) But after I jumped from the X10 to the X70, I immediately found myself missing 2 big things: The true optical zoom, and the PSAM dial on top. My wishlist for an X40: 24 MP sensor. (anything larger than what he X30 had.) Retain optical viewfinder, preferably with illuminated focus confirmation overlay. (I can dream, yes?) 180 degree flip-up LCD screen, with touch to focus or snap. Retain low f stop range 2.0 -2.x or 1.8 - 2.x. Threaded shutter release button. Record button that is actually accessible (the X70 is in a bad location) Retain the top mounted PSAM dial (including: Low Light mode, sport mode, C1, C2, etc) - This is an absolute necessity for an X40. Improved low light video (another dream) Better manual focus for video. (the X10 seemed to hunt even in manual mode) Accessory Wide angle and Telephoto attachments. (Even though it will have a retractable zoom lens) Regarding supposedly low X70 sales: I understand why - as an X70 owner, I can vouch for the need to have a zoom lens. While I know of the very large happy X100 fan base, when you start removing features (like that awesome digital/ optical viewfinder on the X100), there becomes fewer reasons to pick the X70. It's has no REAL zoom. It's mimicking a good cell phone camera in that respect, and thats not what we want. Thank you for listening, I'm addicted to Fuji, but need this gap between the X30 and X70 filled. Thanks!
  3. Milandro (and Fujifilm), Taking the next step in the integrated zoom lens range of X-10, 20, 30 cameras to an X40 model with a larger sensor, modern FW attributes, etc...would NOT put the X40 in direct completion with the X-100 or X70 for one major reason: The PSAM dial on top of the consumer range is not on the X-100/X70 range. I started with an X10. Totally loved the retracting manual zoom and fast shooting capability, but jumped to the X70 for the larger sensor and 180 flip-up screen. Turns out I have had a hard time taking low light shots, or clear fast action shots with the X70. I loved the ultra compact X70, but with only a shutter speed dial on top, I can not use it. (it requires more adjusting than just the shutter speed to get good photos.) I need that photo setting dial on top to choose my environment/ subject mode. It's often life and death for getting a good photo. But each of those two cameras (X10, 20, 30 - X70) have elements that if combined, would cover a big gap in upper end consumer cameras, but would not tread on the X-100/X70 line. All they have to do, is increase the sensor size in an X40, include the optical viewfinder, and add the 180 flip-up screen. That way, it would be a camera with the PSAM dial on top (including the specialty modes, low light, sport action, custom, etc), which in my use is utterly necessary. I doubt they are putting in a collapsable optical zoom lens in the rumored X80. Even if they did, there still is no PSAM dial on top the camera; that end of the camera model range does not want PSAM dials anyhow. So yes, there is a gap. I just hope they fill it soon.
