  1. I tried it with the OVF and it seems to be fine - and I really tried to make it fail. That said I asked around and I have a couple of local friends who shoot with the X100F and they are saying the firmware update DID NOT fix the problem of the shifting focus point in manual focus with the EVF/OVF. We are going to compare all of our X100F settings over coffee - there might be something else factoring in. Cheers, Terry
  2. That has been my experience. I have used the X100F extensively on the street and it works like charm and I do appreciate the firmware upgrade. Cheers, Terry X100F Album On Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/streetfusion/albums/72157677424474394
  3. Sorry to hear this, but my X100F is working just fine after the firmware 1.01 install. Not sure why it isn't working for you but perhaps a call to Fuji support might help. I might suggest you do a full reset - just to ensure that might solve the problem. Cheers, Terry
  4. This has been fixed with latest firmware update thank you Fuji. Cheers, Terry
  5. neal3k, Click the Drive button/key on the keypad of the X100F it will take you to the menu option CONTINUOUS set that at L or M or H or SH. You can scroll up and that take you back to STILL IMAGE. When the X100F is Continuous mode it seems to cause the MF point to jump around from where it is set by the photographer. I hope that helps. Cheers, Terry
  6. Thanks Rolly. Proving I am not going nuts! What is interesting is the XT20 has the same problem. Cheers, Terry
  7. For X100F owners, can I ask you to set your camera to manual focus mode - using the digital scale set the point of focus to 10 feet. Manual exposure at say F8 @ 1/500th. Drive mode set to L. Take a few pictures pointing the camera at various distances without moving the lens focus ring. Is the point of focus jumping around on the digital scale in the LCD or EVF. I have have seen this happen on both the X100F and a friends X-T20. If you set the lens aperture to A mode it will hold at the set point of focus. Cheers, Terry
  8. The 'Q' doesn't really do anything more than put a crop line on the file - if you are using Lightroom it will crop the image when you click the edit icon. It is not really doing any in camera cropping but putting, if you like, a 'trim' line on the file. The Sony RX1RMKII has two choice but both require using JPG files...Fuji uses an "in camera" crop as opposed to a crop in post processing. In the case of Sony - The smart teleconverter (from Sony's detailed specs): When Sony uses the term Smart, they mean an optical crop of the sensor, with no in-camera upscale, so the image is less MP than full 35mm. Given the size and MP of the sensor the quality is excellent. When Sony says Clear Image, that means in-camera crop, and in-camera upscale back to full sensor MP. I have used the Leica Q extensively and it is a post processing crop as opposed to an in camera crop...which allows Leica to use DNG files. It is also dependent on using Lightroom which is provided with the camera. Something I would like is, to be able use the X100F TC in (slow burst) drive mode as opposed to single shot mode...there is likely a reason that is not possible. I hope that makes sense.
  9. Your post was very useful. I like the two button format - I had not seen or read that tidbit before. Thank you. Cheers, Terry
