  1. I found my answer. Actually you can assign the profile from a .dng conversion but not from a .tiff conversion. I hadn’t double checked the .dng option.
  2. I shoot RAW with my Fujifilm X-H2S and X-T3. My colour profile of choice is Provia. When I import into Lightroom, Camera MAtching profiles are selected and I haven't got an issue. Recently, I bought DXO Raw 4 as I like the results from high ISO images better than LR. However, upon re-import from DXO whether in DNG or TIFF format, the colour profile defaults to Adobe Colour. Does anyone know how to re-assign the colour profile or to be able to import Fuji colour profiles without affecting the results of the DXO conversion?
  3. As interesting discussion. I have been Adobicised for many years and the workflow and catalogue suit me well. I think he Capture One engine is much kinder because of the co-operation between Phase One and Fujifilm and there's the dilemna. I enjoy using Capture One much more than Lightroom but the learning curve is steep. So, in the interim, does one create a Lightroom catalogue just for use with Lightroom/Photoshop files (and have to remember which programme was used) AND a catalogue for Capture One and again try to remember. I tried to import my current LR catalogue of 58,000 images into Capture One having sat through their excellent Webinar. It keeled over because I hadn't bargained for the amount of time it would take, nor the amount of space. Perseverence here is the key I think, because Capture One is much more enjoyable to use.
  4. Try here for a RAW converter. Iridient works well with Fuji X-Trans files. http://www.iridientdigital.com/
  5. Until I saw this thread, I'd been fairly happy with Lightroom CC, despite it being slow. I'd tried Capture 1 Pro 10 as well but being "LR" conditioned, I had trouble in adapting to it's layout. I then downloaded a copy of X-transformer this morning and had a quick play. I checked an image from LR and also from X-transformer, both at 100% and the improvement in definition in X-transformer seems quite substantial. I may be tempted to change my workflow to include this. Whilst I'm on - I use Topaz Denoise but the presets on there only seem to recognise Fuji X100T , not the XT-2. Does anyone have a workround, other than Custom manual settings?
  6. Samyang make one but I asked about it in another forum and there was little response so I can't tell you if it's any good or not.
  7. I've managed to get a decent priced set of Cactus (not II's) and they work fine with my XT-2 and Canon 580EX/Yongnuo 568 in TTL mode. The only thing I can't get is HSS.
  8. I think what you use it for has some bearing on what you'll choose. I use 10-24 for landscape and street stuff. The 18-55 for general purpose and holidays and the 50-140 for bands and some landscape.
  9. I sold all my Canon gear for the XT-2 and am delighted with the image quality and weight saving.
  10. A friend and I both changed to Fuji XT-2 recently and he got the Fuji EF-X500 and it exploded when he used it. He said it got really hot then just blew. I've taken the same advice as a poster above and gone for the Cactus triggers as recommended by Damien Lovegrove - work really well with both Yongnuo and Canon flashes.
  11. The metering mode and camera/lens combination is irrelevant - the "correct" exposure is the "correct" exposure. The fact that that there is a difference between two cameras and a few seconds apart is also irrelevant. As long as you get the correct exposure - it doesn't matter how you get it. Read Bryan Petersen - Understanding Exposure.
