I was highly impressed by Fuji Support when discovered single hot pixel on X-E1 (that time no pixel remapping in firmware menu like X-T2 can now). They fixed it without question, with express return shipment.

Fuji X-T2 (and other Trans X) is always showing shutter speed in:
s.s. X (for 1/X < 1sec), e.g. s.s. 2.5 (1/2.5 seconds)
s.s. X" (for X >= 1sec), e.g. s.s. 2.5" (2.5 seconds)
There are no menu item to change that format. Just point attention if ["] is there - it means direct X number, if not - it is 1/X fraction of a second.

I discovered that one of the screws was missing from the base of my MHG-XT2 Grip.  I contacted Fuji support to see if they could help.  4 days later 2 replacements arrived! That's what I call service!

So, I am late to this topic, but it finally happened to me.  I tried every troubleshooting method I could and finally found what has appeared to be a consistent fix for MY issue.  The issue is the same as mentioned, so this may help you, at least until a proper repair can be made.   My batteries were not being recognized, so the boost mode would not work, and occasionally I would see the grip batteries indicators pop up for a second or two on my screen and then disappear.  While checking all of the contacts I slowly unscrewed the grip tension wheel while the camera was still on.  I found that the batteries would suddenly show up after about two full rotations.  The contacts have apparently, over time, had some sort of short created by the constant pressure and now will lose contact if the grip is fully tightened down.  I temporarily fixed this by putting some 1mm thick mounting tape down on the grip in a few spots, to fill the tiny gap created by not having the tension down fully (don't take off the plastic film, or your grip will be permanently fixed to the camera).  Now, I can securely tighten the grip down to full tension, but still have that small gap, so there is not full pressure on the contacts.  This is a bit of a ghetto fix and probably not a permanent solution, but now my batteries are consistently showing on screen and the boost mode function is working fine.  I can barely see a bit of light between the grip and camera, so any weather sealing that was there is no longer, but at least I've identified the problem for my camera and maybe it will help you in a pinch until you can get it repaired.  

I had Samyang 8mm - it is great lens. Now I have 7Artisans 7.5mm - it's also optically very good. However there are some mechanical warnings. You can learn more from this article:

Something else you could check: go into the AF&MF menu, then to Release/Focus Priority on p.2 of that menu. If your AF-S and/or AF-C priority selection is set to "Focus", then the camera won't take a picture unless the image is properly in focus. (I keep mine set to "Release" for both, even if it means a few out-of-focus shots).
It might also be an idea to re-format your cards before trying again.

I had the same problem initially. I solved it by using a piece of cotton thread looped through the attachment cord. I fed it through the eyelet then pulled the cord through.

I bought the Meikon Seafrog in the end and at the moment I am still testing it before bringing my camera underwater. Everything looks like working smoothly and I did a test dive to see if I had any leakings but it seems there is none. It also had a sensor that activates a beeping alarm and a flashing LED light in case of any water leaks in.
Works with the standard 3.5-5.6 XC lens, which I had to buy separately. Luckily I found a very good deal on eBay, which means that for about £300 investment I have the chance to shoot underwater. Shown that to my teachers and other divers I dive with and they all look impressed by it, for the price.
At the moment I am back home with no chance to dive again until I finish my course theory, but I will keep you posted.

As you all know, Fujifilm is handling my repair under warranty and I will receive my camera on Monday. Some of you were asking for details on the cause and damage assessment. Below is an email I received from Fujifilm:
Your X-T2 body was evaluated by our technical staff and upon inspection moisture was found inside the camera body. This moisture had permeated some key components and was related to the camera malfunction you experienced. Although your camera is dust/moisture "resistant" and is weather sealed, it must have been exposed to a good amount of moisture. Body is not "water proof". In this case, we gave you the benefit of the doubt and decided to handle your service request under warranty at no charge. We appreciate your business.
Though Fujifilm is covering my repair under warranty it was done so by giving me the "benefit of the doubt." Therefore, this appears to be a subjective decision by Fujifilm to cover my repair under warranty. I wonder under what conditions Fujifilm would not cover repair of moisture damage under warranty? It appears that covering moisture damage under warranty is still a vague issue. Then again, for all we know, Fujifilm could be covering all moisture damage under warranty. Anyway, I'm thrilled that Fujifilm covered the repair and I have a very positive impression of Fujifilm and their customer service.

Thanks for the suggestions!  I currently have two custom banks.  I am using Velvia for landscapes, and Provia for flowers, portraits, etc.  I have set both NR and sharpening to -3, since as you said that can be adjusted in pp, if necessary.
Highlights are set to -1, and shadows to +1 for Provia and +2 for Velvia.
The results have been quite good so far.

I'm personally setting NR -3 for all shots, because it's quite easy to apply NR later in post if really needed. Sometimes it's good to set Sharpness to -1 as well for more natural portrait look with super-sharp Fuji XF lens. For the good outdorr/daylight try Provia/Astia, for the indoor light portraits - ClassicChrome

No, I do not use filters and I haven't even touched the front element area except using the lens front cap.
 
The problem is in the lens itself. It seems the gearing goes kind of off rail at some point of focusing and then the focusing stops working and the camera gives the error. It works some time possibly and then again, suddenly, during focusing it stops working. I replicated the problem quite succesfully By pointing the lens upwards when focusing. It almost every time locks up there. But even when shooting horizontally this happens. And even if it won't totally lock up, it kinda freezes to wrong focus setting and needs some focusing tries to "wake up".
 
I contacted Fuji England's repair service and the person answering didn't recognize this problem to be a common problem. They suggested to send it for repair.
 
I have contacted the seller and probably send it to the seller so that they can send it to repair (or replace the lens, whatever they choose).
 
So, I end up still trying with the lens whenever I get it back working. Luckily it wasn't my only lens covering that focal lenght :-)

I have this lens (XF mount version) for about 4 month, and like how it performs on Fuji X-E2s.
The only thing I was missing - is click-stop aperture. Today I've finally made that mod : )

Didn't notice any difference while shooting, despite the different coating both lens deliver same results.
 
However my silver sample had issue with focusing ring. I didn't notice it much until compared with silky smooth focusing on black sample.
There was about 1-2mm lag on changing focus direction, which makes precise focusing a bit slower process.
 
Chinese seller offered return and replace, but that's too much time, so decided to fix that locally.
I've disassembled helicoid and re-distributed white grease. I've also adjusted better positions of helicoid lockers.
It solved the issue, now lens is focusing very smooth without any lag.

I got mine in the mail today. Pretty great little lens and it is amazing together with the X-Pro2 when using the OVF together with the mini EVF. I actually prefer this lens now to my Fuji 35mm F2. Its not as good optically obviously but more fun to shoot with (at least for me . Really good work from 7Artisans as I did not expect much from it to be honest. My copy also is not a tight fit but I can live with it. The bokeh is really smooth. Really great effects with Acros + strong grain where its (optical) weakness (compared to xf glass) actually becomes a strength .

I like how it's built, and possibly try to mod it to the click-stop aperture version.
 

CV 40mm f1.4 is one of my favorite adapted lens on Fuji-X bodies. It's small, fun to use and make interesting shots.

Yesterday I've received "MINT" sample from eBay US seller claiming the lens is used only once.
The lens has tons of hidden issues, and I'd like to expose them so you'll not buy (or just return) similar lens.

Please feel free to ask questions or add suggestions. My case with that seller is not over yet, he still insists the lens is perfect and I'm wrong : )

Ok, so discovered issues list:

1. Checking the focus ring. It should rotate smooth on all Voigtlanders. I was surprised there are no grease and ring rotates sometimes stiff sometimes very loose.




2. It looked suspicious, so I inspected rear side. There are shiny black painted areas on disassembly threads.
Make sure you inspect it on your Voigtlander/Zeiss/Leica, etc. lens



3. Typical inspection with strong flash light under different angles unveils more details.
You can see a lot of dust.
 


4. And now we came to the most scary part : ) I found someone's fingerprint under the glass.


After noticing that I also checked the box - styrofoam inserts was from another lens. No manual. Plastic bag is "100y old". Also white paint on lens became yellowish  - one more indicator of the lens age.

Optically lens works excellent, but all that issues make overall experience very bad.
Hope this short review helps someone purchasing better options.

though that is it adds another piece of glass (cost and weight too) of op of your lens.
 
I personally don’t find protective filters necessary but I have never scratched the front lens of any of my lenses in over 40 years and never smashed a lens frontal element.
 
So I may not have felt that anguish but chances are that I’ll never do that.

Unboxing 7artisans 35mm F1.2 lens - Part III
 
The lens is greatly balanced on X-E2s, my fingers locate the focus ring instantly. I think it's nice idea to use such ring shape - it reminds the Leica type knob, and you can focus using single finger as well. I like that aperture ring is far so I can't accidentaly rotate it together with focus, and it's texture is very different so easy to separate.
This small lens beautifully emphasizes vintage look of X-E2s.
 

 

 
It's really light and small lens, just like 35mm F2.5 should be. I'd compare the size with adapted Voigtlander 35mm F2.5 which I often shoot with on X-E2s.
But it's cropped glass, so 7artisans made it lighter and faster up to F1.2 in such small size. That's impressive. I often use Mitakon 35mm F0.95 MK-II for indoor or low light shooting, but that lens is heavy and two times larger. This 7artisans 35mm F1.2 is a joy to use, it really feels like I forgot to mount the lens on camera : )
