  1. I would love to hear more information about this! Where did you hear the godox rumors? I LOVE my godox flashes, if they release a Fuji ttl version of the 860 I would never need any other flash.
  2. I have the 35 1.4 also. It is painfully slow in low light compared to the others. I'm still hoping they bring out the 33 F1.0 sometime next year with much faster AF. I'm okay with waiting until they finish the current round of F2 lenses because the newer tech can go into the 33 F1.0 lol. I get why they didn't come with WR to start, I don't think the bodies even had WR when those lenses came out. They used the fastest tech Fuji had at the time. I think it's just unfortunate that the premium lenses came out before they knew how to make them focus as fast as they can now. Personally I'd rather have better IQ and a wider aperture, even if the lens is slightly bigger. The smaller F2 lenses don't excite me. Even if the 33 1.0 is the size of the 56 1.2 and costs twice as much I'll still be waiting in line with money in hand! They already have an 18 F2. If they bring out a 16 F2 before refreshing the 56 1.2 or before announcing a 33 1.0, I'll be pretty upset. At that point I will feel like they've given up on the professional photographers and they're catering only to street & travel shooters.
  3. The XT2 has a faster refresh rate which reduces the stretching/warping effect. It's not completely gone but it's much better than the XT1.
  4. I'd say the electronic shutter in the XT2 is a HUGE improvement over the XT1. I've used both quite a bit for weddings in quiet churches or corporate events where I don't want a hundred people turning around to see who's firing away at the back of the room. No, the XT2 electronic shutter isn't perfect. It can still have some stretching if you're moving while you shoot but it is a huge improvement.
  5. Great Pictures Warwick, shows what the 35 F2 can do nicely! Naddan28, I agree and I would love to see some of the older primes updated with WR and faster focusing. My favorite lens right now is still the 56 1.2 for weddings. I would love have an updated version of that lens with the motors and WR that's in my 90 F2. The newer 23 F2 and 50 F2 don't appeal to me. I want the best IQ and widest aperture and I don't care if the lens is a little bigger. Since I'm paying more for the 1.4 or 1.2 aperture, it would be nice if it focused as fast as the less expensive lenses and was weather resistant as well.
  6. Thanks for posting the number. I called Fujifilm and spoke to a service tech who seemed pretty knowledgeable and friendly. He said because I can reproduce the issue, it sounds like it has an electrical problem and the camera would have to be sent to Fujifilm to be repaired. He said it's hard to tell without having the camera there, but it could be a loose connection or an electrical board that needs to be replaced. It could also have something to do with the mode selector since it only happens on continuous low. I have too many jobs booked right now and won't be able to send it back until at least the 15th. The new firmware is hopefully coming out before then so I'll see if that makes a difference first.
  7. Good idea, I'll try that out next time I have the issue. It doesn't show up every time I shoot in continuous low which is what's confusing about it. But so far, continuous low is the only place I've seen the issue. It happens in both AFC and AFS mode. If I'm doing portraits or shooting anything static, I use single shot. But for groups of people or if there's kids involved (especially outdoors), then I like shooting on continuous low in short bursts of 2 to 4 shots. 5fps is the sweet spot for me. 4fps is a little slow, but I'll give it a try to see if the issue is present there also.
  8. I was interested in the 120mm 2.8 because it has the long focal length I'm looking for. Since they're not working on it anymore I'm hoping for a 135 f2! As a wedding photographer, the 90 f2 is now an essential part of my kit and I never leave without it. The 80 Macro doesn't really interest me. I can get plenty close to wedding rings with the 90 f2 and an extension tube. Different strokes for different fokes... 9. Nevermind, that may not be the only cause. I had two shoots today, one indoors and one outdoors. On the first shoot the camera didn't freeze at all so I thought all was well. I was making sure I gave the camera plenty of time to "wake up". On the second shoot the camera started freezing within the first 15 or 20 photos and kept happening until I switched shooting modes. Again, I was giving the camera plenty of time to wake up. I switched to either single shot, or continuous high and the problem went away on both of those modes. It only seems to happen on continuous low, which is where I like to shoot the most for subjects that move or blink. I end up with way too many photos for my needs on continuous high. I love my XT2 but this problem is starting to get really irritating as it becomes more frequent. When I pull the battery, the frozen photo in the EVF is lost. I'm hoping this is one of the bugs that will be fixed in the new firmware update!
  10. Rennie, I think you're completely right! I've had the same issue you described happen intermittently a few times before but not enough to really irritate me. Today it happened 5 or 6 times during a shoot. I spent an hour messing with the camera tonight trying to recreate the problem with no luck at all. After reading your post I tried shooting immediately after turning the camera on and the issue happened right away. I tried it several more times and the same thing happened. The EVF freezes, shows the last picture taken and won't respond to any controls until the battery is pulled. I got in the habit of turning my XT1 off between photos to save power (which really helps a lot with that camera). I guess I can't do that with the XT2 until Fuji fixes this issue. I registered just to post in this thread and thank you. No, the issue isn't fixed but at least now I know what's causing it so I can try to avoid it. That's a huge help! I shoot for a living and I've come to really depend on my Fuji cameras. Not knowing why it was freezing was starting to make me nervous about using the camera for a professional shoot. Where is the best place to report this issue to Fuji to make sure they know about it?
