  1. Only two things: I haven't experienced that so far. Using my GFX for nearly a month every day now. So I wouldn't consider this a "normal" error. I had the same experience, though, with my then brand new X-Pro2. I heard different stories about the reason: broken/weak battery, hardware failure, firmware. Some people reported, the this never happened to them, some, that they have it all the time. Since one of the first firmware updates, it never happened again. My theory is, that Fujifilm programmed the firmware very near the limits of the hardware. More efficient programming, bugfixing and so on in later firmware updates may avoid these pitfalls and everything goes away. Also the firmware programmers have to learn how to handle the hardware. Anyway, if this is a reproducible problem, contact either Fujifilm or your dealer. They should handle it...
  2. Short thumbs...? I have the same problem with the X-Pro2 and even with the GFX it sometimes happens, and I really hate it. I think, it's simply a remainder of some original design and they don't want to change it for consistency. By now, most users expect it this way.
  3. Okay, I forgot about the Hasselblad, it's IMHO the only exception. I have to say, when I played around a little bit wth the Hasselblad, I was very tempted to take it instead of the GFX. But in the end, I had the feeling, the GFX would give me many more possibilities and would be more versatile. The Hasselblad reminded me on my beloved Fujifilm GF670, my all time favorite MF camera.
  4. Yeah, well, the GFX is no beauty either... If one needs beautiful cameras, instead of a work-horse, then digital MF might be the wrong place to search. I don't know any beautifull digital MF camera, some of the old film-MFs were really pretty.
  5. Having DNG as a native format out of camera is a nice thing. I liked that with my Leicas. Since (even compressed) support for the GFX RAF files in Lightroom, it's not a problem anymore. I only wish, Capture One would also support it. Otherwise I think, the files can be pretty much manipulated to have the look, you want. Do you still have the Pentax? I never owned it, but checked it out at Photokina. For me, it was simply too heavy and big.
  6. If you are already happy, with what what you have, and the GFX doesn't add anything important, let it go... I currently enjoy the camera very much and since Lightroom support, the RAW processing is not such PITA anymore. The RAWs give very much room for processing (shadow recovery and clipping are very well handled, I think). What do you mean with the RAWs look like having cooked something into them? You think, there is too much processing in camera before writing the RAWs?
  7. Compressed RAWs are working fine with Lightroom 6.9 now. I installed it this morning and was able to load compressed and uncompressed RAWs of my GFX. With compressed RAW support, it's much more convenient when on tour with limited hard disk space.
  8. Yes, I tried Iridient Developer, and it was able to load the RAWs (I tried uncompressed only). But I'm not so used to the interface and workflow, so I didn't try very hard. I was just searching for a way to convert the RAWs to something, that Lightroom could read (DNG or tiff), but it wasn't very useful to me. Anyway. Iridient works, so if you are used to the interface, you should be able to work with it.
  9. Maybe they did some copy and paste... At least some of the menu-entries described in the manual are different in the real camera (other naming).
  10. Has anyone already got it? I have mine since today, and will need some time to really get to it. Currently Affinity is the only usable program I know, that can decode the RAWs, Silkypix is no option for me... Did anyone here try the LR-Tethering-Plugin? I wonder, what filetype is transferred to LR then, since LR on its own is noch able to decode the RAF-files.
  11. I was under the impression, that Fujifilm is open to the idea to disclose the communication protocols of the electrical contacts of the lens mount, to allow other manufacturers to create AF-adapters for other lenses. Now, if that's true, I really would also love them to publish the programming interface of the cameras WIFI as well as wired communication. That would allow enthusiastic programmers (like me...) to develop alternative tethering solutions and make the remote-control-interface very useful. It would improve the cameras value at no cost for Fujifilm.
  12. Top 1 on my wish list: Shipment starts a week early, instead of later, with all preorders easily served... That would be it! 2. CO1 support. Would give a reason to switch from LR, finally. Sigh, waiting is so hard...
