  2. I’ve ordered cameras and lenses from Hong Kong. Never had any problems with any of them, and saved loads of money. If you use PayPal you get your money back should the delivery fail to arrive. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I just bought a MeFoto Backpacker Air. I’m very impressed. I wanted a travel tripod that I could actually travel with - i.e. have in my bag and carry around all day without really noticing it. I’d looked at the Manfrotto BeFree - great tripod but too big and heavy for what I need. Then I saw the backpacker air - it folds down to just 10.4 inches and weighs just 2lb. https://mountaintripper.com/mefoto-backpacker-air-tripod-review/ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. I’d go for the 18mm f2 for when you want to go wider, and the 50mm f2 for when you want to go longer. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Exactly. The number of people who want to buy a camera body with a complete set of lenses is much smaller than the number who might be interested in each of the parts separately. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Exactly. One less thing to worry about. I can’t see why you wouldn’t want it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. My travel kit: XPro2 + XF23MM f2 + XF50mm f2 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  9. If it's not your thing, just don't use the forum any more. I think I must be a member of a dozen or more forums I haven't looked at for years. I can't even remember what all of them are. It makes no practical difference to me whether my membership is technically still in existence or whether it's been terminated Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. As Milandro says, the kind of stress you get on a strap from a Fuji mirrorless camera doesn't require anything stronger. I've got an Artisan & Artist cord strap on my XPro2. It has those leather patches at the end. I have never heard of any of these straps failing, ever, and nor does my own strap give me any cause for concern. I think it's a non-problem Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Another way to see it is relating to the XPRO2 in the same way that the XT20 relates to the XT2. Which is to say, smaller and lighter with some high-tech features. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Skateboard. XPro2, 23mm f2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yes indeed - I'm a big fan of the 23mm. I've just made a different choice when it comes to the advantages of the two 23s. I chose size and WR over absolute quality. I also, like you, also use a longer standard lens - but I've gone for the 50mm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I changed my 35mm and 23mm f1.4 lenses for the f2 versions. The size, weight, portability and WR meant I kept my camera with me in more situations. Then I changed the 35mm f2 for the 50mm f2, because there was too much of an overlap between the 35 and the 23. With those two lenses I can shoot almost anything: the 23 for most things, and the 50 for when I want bokeh, separation and compression, or for when I can't get close enough to my subject. However, I also keep an 18mm lens because it's great for tight spaces or when you want to exaggerate perspective, or when you want to tell a story by seeing your subject in a fuller situation Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. One more. Glencoe (8mm fisheye) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. A couple from Scotland with my XPro2 Glencoe (XF50mm) Camusdarrach beach, near Mallaig (XF23mm F2) Hills above Glen Nevis (8mm fisheye) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I like the 2nd one - but I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like in Acros Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. If you want a faster-focussing prime close to the 56mm, how about the 50mm f2? This picture is people running erratically, on continuous autofocus Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  22. I think touchscreens are really important for the kinds of devices where people want them - like phones. But for a stills camera built around a philosophy of using physical controls, it's a step in the wrong direction. It's possibly a mistake. If you want touchscreen controlled cameras, there will be others that are entirely screen-based with no dials or switches. Whereas if you want dials and switches, a touchscreen is not an advantage Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. I get that, but what is the benefit of stabilisation if subject movement at slow shutter speeds will still give you a blurred picture? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. So does IBIS provide any actual benefits for stills photography, apart from panning? And I'm sure I've seen good action panning shots taken with 35mm film cameras, without IBIS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. If IBIS allows lower shutter speeds without camera shake, will you still get a blurred picture unless your subject is completely static? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
