And these are @ 6400 with no noise reduction, just bumped contrast.   I will upload a few from my xt2 later...The files form it do not look "alive" even at 800..

That's one of the reasons I am selling the xt2 and going back to xt1
I find that "battery saving feature" a huge nuisance that interferes with my work flow..

    Hi there,

The blind folded yaysayers can ignore the problem all they like. After owning the XT-1, XPro-2, XEs and the XT-2, I can assure you that the XT-2 files are noisy even at relatively low ISO and I am no pixel peeper! I recently did some street work at around 800 ISO and in a nutshell the results are terrible - especially when it comes to the skin tone / noise issue. Oh, and I only shoot raw with all in camera settings zero'd out ie noise etc.

I don't understand why things like this become just defensive and divisive topics. Some of us the issue and other don't. Guess what, there's a potential problem, let's get it fixed and over with - sounds simple and easy to me!

    Cheers,

Yep, 35mm f1.4 is a slow clunker compared to newer lenses, but the images are simply superb.

Sorry don't believe the hype, the 35mm F2 is not as well optically corrected as the F1.4 and relies on more in camera or in processor correction which means Jpegs workflow is great, RAW is down to your converter. Good luck with capture one.

F1.4 renders better in my opinion

F1.4 now focus's very fast on X-T2, is it as fast as the F2 no, but its fast enough that the difference no longer matters ie you won't be missing any shots.

Its not that noisy apart from when you turn it on and the lens racks out to its starting position.

Give it a couple of years and the newness has worn off on the F2 and people will be coming back to the F1.4. Still my favourite lens in the line up, and has produced most of my favorite shots in the system. Now I grant you I love that focal length but still in terms of IQ the only other lens that has the same vibe is the 90mm, Those two lens are just stellar and while the 56mm is a great lens and useful focal length every time I shoot I am always thinking why can't you be more like the 35 and the 90 Its going to need councilling soon

synthesaur got a reaction from renes in Ken Rockwell X-T2 Review... X-T2 not really for Pro's
High ISO jpegs are still much better from my old Canon 6D. Fuji's low light jpg's look like cheap camera shots, noisy and all smeared.
The new XP2 and XT2 have a several year old Sony sensor...
They should have gone a FF way from the start.. A full frame sensor at 16mp would have been a monster killer..
So, yes if you want efficient camera to do (typical) weddings etc, Fuji may not be considered a pro camera.
For casual and street shooting it is great. I've had x100s, xt1, xp2 and now xt2...
After having shot with the xt2 I realize that i overpaid for it, the camera is not much better than its predecessor...

Buyer's remorse? Essentially it's just higher mpix, slightly faster AF and oh....the turbo charged battery grip.
