  1. X-Pro2 mainly used with 16f1.4 or 35f2 or 35f0.95 mk2 (becoming addictive) and sometimes 12f2. X100F (previously owned X100S and X100T). Enviado do meu SM-N910C através do Tapatalk
  2. I own a Olympus E-M5 II and IBIS is probably the main reason I still use it besides my Fuji cameras, especially for tele lenses and video. Is an amazing technology and really useful when you need very slow speeds or have a tele from other brand. The only time I turn it off is just on a tripod.
  3. I would take the 18 f2 or buy the cheap Samyang 12 f2 (you'll need wide mainly for interiors and temples) and 35 f2 or 50 f2. The X100T is always a very handy small camera that covers 23mm, acts as a backup camera just in case and don't have to switch lenses all the time. That tele 50-230 could be useful sometimes. I've been in Thailand 7 years ago on honeymoon for about 2 weeks late October and got some rain showers but not much to worry about - 1 week in Bangkok, North (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Mae Sae) and other week on South. By then I was a Canon user and took 3 zooms - Wide, normal and tele and a small pocketable Panasonic LX-3 just for some videos. Nowadays with my Fuji gear I would take the X-Pro 2, 16 f1.4, 35 f2 and a X100F. Probably I'd buy a tele like yours, is useful for some wildlife and some shots of people praying that you don't want to disturb keeping a comfortable distance. Have a nice trip, it's a great country to visit with very nice people.
  4. I'm a prime shooter too and my set is somehow similar: XPro2, 16f1.4, 35f2 and a X100T. Probably in the future I'll add that samyang 12f2. I won't get 23f2 lens however I've already felt tempted to, I prefer to have a 2nd body (X100 series) with that versatile 35mm equiv. focal length and if I get a 23f2 lens to the XPro2 probably I wouldn't use the X100T or the 35f2 that much. In your case I'd suggest a 16f1.4, it's an outstanding lens, I suppose the rumoured 8-16 will be too hefty. Great images you have in your website.

  6. I was in the same fence considering also a 14 f2.8 but decided on 16 f1.4 and maybe later I'll add the cheap but great samyang 12 f2.
  7. I don't think that would be a great difference, here is a good example of what a 16MP X100S can achieve (80 feet by 18 feet): link
  8. I am more or less in the same fence, came from Canon to Olympus. Today I have a em5II + lot m43 lenses, love IBIS (amazing), lens sizes and video ability. When I'll pull the trigger on a Xpro2 or Xt-2 (waiting for more tests and the promising E-m1II) probably will keep Olympus specially for tele work and video. I love my X100T (camera and IQ) and will just sell it to upgrade to a X100F. Both systems have their concessions.
  9. Like somebody here I have a very positive opinion with a Rollei Compact traveller no.1 carbon and cost me 229€. I was in doubt with a Cullmann 622TC (249€). Here is a review of Rollei: http://www.francescogola.net/Blog/Rollei-Travel-ENG
  10. I've been there twice in '98 and '99 for 2 weeks each time, it is a beautiful country and marvelous people, back then I was giving my first steps in photography and took with me 2 zooms: a 28-80 and 75-300 (35mm film). Today I would just take my X100T and probably a 10-24 (narrow alleys) or a 18-135 (landscapes or architectural details). In your case I would travel light and the most unconspicuous way (2 or 3 primes) - 23 or 35f2 for narrow places like small alleys inside souks and portraits, 14 or 10-24 (+ a small tripod) to take some slow night shots at "Jemaa el-Fna" - Marrakesh. Or take more lenses and each day challenge yourself leaving at the hotel most of them taking with you just 1 or 2. You'll not be regretted in making concessions, photography should be fun and not a lens choice dilemma. Less photo stuff is the way to blend in the croud. BTW if you have the oportunity don't miss Chefchaouen up in the north, it's a small village on white and blue buildings, really worth it. Essaouira and Marrakesh is also interesting. Morrocan people is a very friendly people, have a good trip.
