anywhereian got a reaction from loksi in Fuji X-H1 – Your Opinion
I'm very excited for the X-H1. It fills the gap I have been waiting for. Ordered mine, ready for March 1 pick-up and ready to use for Sydney Mardi Gras parade two days later – amazing timing!

I will be replacing X-T2 to X-H1 for filmmaking. I will continue to use X-E1 and X-T1 for photography.

I agree with you: the Fuji H-X1 is not an upgrade of X-T2. H-X1 is a new camera expecially for video and it is better than canon 5D. The upgrade of X-T2 (new X-T3) is not yet born

I'd pretty much agree with this!

The icons and EV scale are more legible in the XP1 OVF and some of the buttons are nicer too.

But the EVF (& many other features) of the XP2 are MILES ahead of the XP1

I've owned the X Pro1, now own two X Pro2s. The X Pro2 viewfinder is a vast improvement. The refresh rate and the way information is displayed is much better. The camera is more responsive and the autofocus is in a completely different league.
Last week I used the X Pro2 professionally at a motorsport event, cars coming towards me at 100mph+ in misty conditions, not a single missed shot.
The X Pro2 is in a completely different league in every area.
If you liked the handling and form factor of the X Pro1 but didn't like the EVF then I think you'll love the X Pro2.

    I hear you.

Very impressed with the X Pro-2 while shooting with the new XF23mmF2 R WR – the former 23mm, not so impressed. My original plan was to buy the Leica Q but held off until I could hold the X Pro-2, XT2 and Leica Q in my hands. What the extra $3K in the Q has, is beyond me. All felt sturdy and sold in my hand. I found the manual focus to be more responsive on the Fuji's. That surprised me. So, the decision is now down the X Pro-2 or XT2……………… I'm going back next week, to my inept salesperson, to test the OVF on the Pro-2, then make a decision.

That's exactly what occurred. I believed she was incorrect, due to the lines appearing only during a certain time of focusing. Hence! Why I came here.

    This forum has been great.

I realize the OVF has some advantages but am wondering why the X-Pro2 costs more given the X-T2's specs/features seem to be getting the nod in a number of areas...video, tilt screen, better EVF, button layout, dual card slots both high speed, battery grip, speed, etc.  Is it a form factor thing?

It's called focus peaking. It's normal in manual focus on mirrorless and video cameras. It is customisable and can be turned off.

Sounds like it was set to manual focus with focus peaking enabled, the red outlines show what's in focus. You can easily turn this off and it shouldn't show when auto focus is enabled. However, it is incredibly helpful when using manual or adapted lenses.
