  1. I used the EF 24-70mm f/2.8 in Canon and for Fuji don't looks anywhere else, your option is the 16-55mm f/2.8. The latter is as sharp as the Canon counterpart. The bokeh is not the same but it's very acceptable.

If Fuji releases a 16-55mm f/2 or f/1.8 (I doubt) the lens will be massive and very expensive, as the 8-16mm f/2.8 is.

I use my Canon 24-70mm on my X-T3 (via Fringer Adapter) and it works fine. AF is not as fast as with Canon bodies but OK.

  2. Finally, the best multi-purpose lens is coming. Hope it gets good reviews in terms of IQ and AF, on part with the 16*55mm f2.8.

I wish it would have had a 67mm filter thread to share with some of my other Fuji lenses. It's just 1 cm shorter than the 18-135mm lens and ~50 gr lighter.

It will be my most used zoom lens as the 16-55mm is excellent but normally I need more focal length and OIS is also welcomed.

  3. I had the 90mm and it is in many aspects better than the 56mm, however I found more versatile the 56mm for my common uses, so I sold the 90mm and kept the 56mm.

Bokeh is very good with both but the extra stop, weight and size inclined me to keep the 56mm. 90mm provides more compression, focus faster and it's WR

  4. I have been hesitant about geeting the 56mm f1.2 because its steep price compare to other Fuji lenses. I know is a terrific lens for portraiture but also seems to be slow to fucus and a bit larger than other lenses.

I am mostly about street photo but occasionally I want to take portraits so I'd like a lens with fast AF and capable of producing good bokeh.

    What would you do?

  5. So much gear...

Don't know what is expected of you, but for an event, I'd take just the mk3, 24-70 and a flash on top with something like a MagBounce. Add to that the fuji with the 23 1.4 for low light and I'd be all set.

Keep moving, find good angles. Shoot all the people. Interact. Watch areas of activity and be ready to catch the moment.

And take a grey card to calibrate your white balance.

    Many thanks for the sugestion

  6. Time to stand up and be counted!

To be honest: I'm curious which cameras our members use for shooting...

As we all have GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) multiple choice (= multiple cameras) is available

Please vote above and comment below!

I also have the new X-T2 but it was not listed

  7. I just want to get some help from you guys on what lenses and accessories may I need for the celebration of a 15 years birthday party. Photography is a hobbie but a friend that is budget restrained needs my help. I already explained to him I am not a pro.

    I will be using my camera Fujifilm X-T2 with 14mm f2.8, 23mm f1.4, 35mm f2 and 90mm f2 lenses.

    I know it is kinda special event and don't want to miss any important moment so, I also use a 5D Mark 3 with 3 zooms (24-70mm f4L IS, 16-35mm f4L IS, 70-200mm f2.8L IS II) and 3 primes (15mm f2.8, 50mm f/1.8 STM, 100mm f2.8L IS).
I will have a set of 3 Canon 600EX-RT and transmitter (and umbrellas/softboxes) for the Canon and a hotshoe speedlite for my Fuji camera in case I needed.

In this event, there is no such a church ceremony like weedings but a ceremony/party at a medium-lit hall.

After all this story, which gear and set up would you suggest? Thanks in advaces for your suggestions.
