  1. Because the 10-24 f4 OIS can do THIS and the 14 wouldn't quite make it, I'm glad the 10-24 was my choice. I found out my last outing that it ended up staying on pretty much the entire time. I had no idea I truly needed things that wide to get it done, but for ME it was the answer. Can't say enough good things about it.
  2. If it's any help I quickly noticed when I got one, that it worked best when you line up the white dots, THEN apply a small amount of pressure directly against the hood to the body, THEN while apply that small amount of pressure turning the hood. It only THEN worked out perfectly each time. A friend who got one had this same issue and it was over when he applied my idea of putting a small amount of pressure against the hood to the body of the lens when beginning to turn the hood, it then lines up fine and goes on with no issues fully as it should
  3. Frankly I LOVE the effect it provides. This one taken on the X-T2 the other day with a 10-24 f4 OIS lens directly into the sun. if this is all it does i'm not the least bit worried. I love the effect frankly.
  4. I picked up a Lexar 2000x UHS-II card for slot one in case I use burst modes so it will accommodate the higher speeds, and a 2nd card in slot 2, a Sandisk UHS-1 95mbps Class 10 card for potential video or even stills by the thousands in case.
  5. Since I just got this combo I gave it a go through today. As the sun was heading to the "Golden Hour" I snagged this one. I'm digging this combo for sure.
  6. So glad my wait will finally be over when I take delivery of the body and my 16-55mm f2.8 tomorrow morning. Sadly in order to get it had to cancel with B&H because they kept jacking me around........one minute it's coming tomorrow the next it's backordered with NO idea when it will be in. So called Brad Berger of Berger Bros. in NY. A great guy, and had my two items in stock coming tomorrow morning. He's got the grip and batteries to be delivered next week so then I'll get those as well. It's all good in the end, but quite disappointed about B&H. Dropped 5K with them last week just preparing with all the lenses I got from them
  7. Sadly I went through a Paypal pay to B&H and apparently their deliveries are erratic at best. I remember years ago when the Olympu OMD-EM5 came out they had it first and I got one. Oh well.........not this time
  8. My update today was that I am NOT in on the 20 cameras they received this morning. They have another shipment on Thursday coming in, but once again don't know how many and what time of the day. In a perfect world they would get the remainder of their allocation supplying ME and it would come in the morning so it could go out same day Thursday and get to me Friday morning. That is perfect world. I know we don't typically live in that world, so who knows. Won't get the final word till Thursday.
  9. Sadly B&H has decided they are NOT shipping till the 8th. I ordered next day MORNING delivery so Friday morning will have to work. The grips are arriving the 9th so hopefully will ship the following Monday with the batteries I ordered as well. So I'll have to do my evaluation without a grip over the weekend assuming they get enough to fulfill the pre order list where I am at this time. They said to call Wednesday to see if I'm on that list and good to go. Painfully enough the 16-55 f2.8 I ordered with it wasn't in stock but was 7-14 days away when they ordered it a week ago, so said it "might be possible" that it would arrive in time to ship with the camera. Guess I'll see soon enough. I already ordered the 50-140 f2.8, 10-24 f4 OIS and 100-400, and even got in on the 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverter deals. Should be fun to check all that out once it happens.
  10. I ordered one of these https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1102545-REG/vello_gspu_fxt1_lcd_screen_protector_ultra.html in advance as I've used the Vello's on several cameras and they are wonderful. Don't scratch, are absolutely transparent, and go on without ANYTHING behind them such as bubbles and stuff. Very durable and clear to say the least. It's like they aren't there but tenaciously protect the screen. I ordered mine today in advance of the camera coming. It will come out of it's bag and have this installed immediately no waiting.
  11. the new "S" version battery has improved heat dissipation compared to the older version, so a logical improvement. The outfit TheCameraStore" up in Canada did a video on the X-T2 running it through it's paces. They were impressed by the fact it easily did it's 30 minutes of video with no overheating like the Sony A6300 that kept shutting down at 10-15 minutes. I suspect they did a great heat sink job on this camera as they pretty much had to.
  12. I want all the performance I can get out of this bad boy. So I ordered for 3 batteries and the grip. Most of the lenses I'll ever be using are larger so it should help the hand holding of them
  13. So I called B&H again today. The rep I spoke with was a bit out to lunch on fine details of the shipment coming in vs. the embargo and such. I ended up speaking with a supervisor. Things got worse. It seems that the lens I ordered with the camera (the 16-55 f2.8) became OUT of stock between the time I ordered it and now. They had PO's with Fuji for new one's, which is now stated as being 7-14 days away from being available again. So the supervisor informed me that while they couldn't in any way guarantee the lens would be in the same time the body would be, it "could" happen. He also stated that Fuji had NOT confirmed the actual delivery date they will physically have the cameras in their warehouse READY to ship on the 8th, which of course is the embargo date all have to adhere to and NOT release or ship cameras BEFORE that date period. That said he's trying to remain optimistic stating that for whatever reason a few reps stated that they were getting their bodies in Thursday and I could call to confirm all was well with my getting mine on Friday the 9th, he suggested waiting till next Wednesday, the so called day before the day before, in which to confirm that not only the body but my 16-55 f2.8 lens was there with my name on it to go out with a body on Thursday the 8th. He surmised the worst case scenario would be calling on Thursday or Friday morning to arrange a Saturday morning delivery if I didn't wish to wait till Monday to get it (which I don't). Just as a precautionary measure I ordered a 50-140 f2.8/1.4 teleconverter kit package for delivery tomorrow just to have SOMETHING in my hand to be ready for whatever happens in case they don't get a 16-55 f2.8 in. At least then I'll have a good lens to play with as I wait for the other to show up. What a hassle. So guys, in the end........NOTHING is guaranteed which we thought was.
