I have not yet ordered it but doing so is probably inevitable.  Maybe you guys will say its crap and save me some money!  I love the 10-12mm range on the 10-24 so pretty curious about this lens.  I've heard some complaints about the f3.5 but I rarely have my 10-24 at f4 so I doubt it will be an issue.  Although double duty as an Astro lens would have been nice.

Given that the new f/1.4 lenses are a little big on the X-pro series, does anyone have any information regarding Fuji developing a new line of fujicrons or (somewhat) compact primes?
    Thanks!

For the price and versatility, the 23mm f2 R WR can’t go wrong. Focuses up close, a nice middle between standard and wide angle view, etc.

    Hi,
I partially agree with @Mentalo, the ideal kind of lenses for the X-PRO3 are the primes.
But I think that is same situation an all-round zoom is more flexible.
The question is that this zoom must have a good quality and a portability adapted to user needs.
In my opinion the options are as follow.
Fujinon XF 18-55/f2.8-4 or XF 16-55/f2.8
    I own both lenses.
The 18-55 is a good lens, small and light so very portable. It has the stabilization and the only caveat is that it isn't weather resistant.
The 16-55 is a fantastic lens but is huge and heavy. It isn't stabilized but it is, IMHO, a perfect all around lens.
Fujinon XF90mmF2 R LM WR if you need a telephoto lens.
Perhaps you are thinking to a ultra-wide-angle lens, in this case you can evaluate the Laowa 10/f4 Cookie that is really small, not perfect but with a reasonable quality.

After testing dozens of bags and backpacks from all the major brands, I can say that I have found the perfect messenger bag for my photographic equipment. It's black, discreet, doesn't look like a photography bag, is lightweight, has a rear opening and a magnetic opening and closing system, which is secure and quiet. It fits my XT4 with the Tamron 17-70mm with the lens hood on, plus the 50-140mm or 70-300 and there is still room for another lens/flash.
I'm sure it's the perfect bag!!!!

Well Fuji dropped prices on many things beginning 7/20 and the xt-3 and 16-80 package is now 1499.  I live in. Mass and there is a tax free shopping weekend in late August but rather than get greedy and wait to see if the fuji package is still on sale by then,  I just bought the lens and camera body package, I will eat the taxes but figure I come out ahead anyway.     Norm

    Jazz1 got a reaction from Aleksandr_m.f in XH-1 in 2020
Everyone has been so great to me since I joined this forum/thread. So, I thought I'd share pics of my latest addition to my XH-1. I have to admit that I've pretty much kept the Fujifilm battery grip on the XH-1.....until now ;)
I was lucky enough to snag one of the last J.B. Design grips for the XH-1 Mr. J.B. had in the backroom. He was even kind enough to drop in the mailing package a beautiful matching camera shoe cover! Now that classes up the whole rig. If only it would do the same for me personally ;)
Even better than looks, the rich red Padauk wood grip makes the camera incredibly comfortable in my hand. Even with my small right hand, my little pinky was waving in the wind. Because of the wooden extension, on the right side of the camera now fits even more comfortably in the palm of my hand.
For those that might be curious this grip does not extend the camera's front finger grip. Of course, I don't think the XH-1 needs that kind of extension. At least this is true for my hand.
The other benefit of course is that the camera is lighter in weight compared to the XH-1 with Fujifilm's battery camera grip. This substitution of course gives you one battery in the camera. But there is an access port, carved out, on the bottom to the grip that makes battery exchanges easy. And yes, the back LCD screen does fully articulate with the grip in place.
Now I just have to find a reddish leather camera wrist strap for a complete camera make-over.
I do not know if J.B. will ever put these into production again. If you hit him up, and he agrees let him know "Crazy Bill" sent you ;)
I also have one of the J.B. grips on my Pro-3 and enjoy that combination too.

yes its a pity that Fuji have abandoned the XH1, think they used it as proof of concept for the XT4 (getting IBIS sorted for the XT4 etc.) and its a pity cos I love my XH1, and with just a bit of firmware tweaking it could go from great to amazing! Strange how Fuji, who are normally so good with firmware updates have fallen short over the last year or so... pity.

Jazz1 reacted to NDDave in Kaizen love to X-H1?
I'm sorry to read these posts.  I just purchased my first Fuji camera the X-H1. I read everything I could to decide between the X-T3 and the X-H1 and decided since I was moving from a Canon 5D MkII that the size and weight of the X-H1 would be a good choice for me, adding the IBIS and the deal was sealed. I choose Fugi just because of their history of updating their previous models as much as they could. I hope they won't abandon the X-H1 but will continue to improve the software.  If they don't I will be greatly disappointed.

I have an XT-3 / X-H1 and the X-H1 camera is my favorite. It is a professional camera and requires a steep learning curve. The construction is very resistant (professional workhorse) and for amateur is this camera for very, very long term use. I´m very happy with the X-H1, mainly the IBIS function is extremely great. (I switch from Canon FF to Fuji 4 years ago).

Jazz1 reacted to Ben Bishop in Cable for XH-1 & XPro 3 For Off Camera Flash
The off-camera cable is like an extension cord. In this case it has four terminals, whether used on a Canon or on a Fuji camera. The important point is Canon and Fuji use each line for a different purpose. A Fuji flash mounted on a Fuji camera works fine. A Fuji flash attached to an extension cable that has four lines that meet the terminals? That'll work fine on a Fuji camera. I have a Canon extension cord that's more than ten years old. It used to connect my Canon A2 to a 540EZ flash. Now I attach my X-H1 to the cord to a Fuji EF-42 and it works exactly as I would want. Don't hesitate to buy the Canon or the Vello-for-Canon cords. If you deal with one of the big New York stores where you can actually talk to an informed sales rep you can get the right fancy or budget cable.

I've owned many cameras and the X-H1 is my favourite. The real drawback as a first camera are the huge number of options you can adjust. The traditional learner's camera was simple, with just the basic adjustments. Even the simplest cameras today seem to offer video recording, a choice of automatic or manual settings for shutter speed, sensitivity, colour balance and many more options, so getting to grips with the camera and quickly moving on to taking pictures means getting guidance that keeps it simple. And that's not simple; most instructors seem to bury you in detail, proving their own mastery but not helping you get up to speed.
I love the anti-shake system, but I love taking pictures near sunset when light levels are low. I hope you know someone or can take a simple course that helps you understand the basics of exposure and the basics of getting an interesting picture. I bought mine at the end of production when they were an excellent value. If you're getting a good guarantee then it can be a great buy. With the low cost of a simple 4x6 print it isn't expensive to take a few pictures and then see what they look like on a flat piece of paper.
Get some basic instruction, take some pictures and you can be on a fun and interesting path.

Jazz1 reacted to Herco in XH-1 in 2020
    Hi Jazz1,
I have both the x-pro2 and the x-h1. Despite the same sensor/processor inside, these are very different cameras. Also in terms of lenses that match best. The H1 is a very universal camera in true DSLR-style. I use it mainly for studio portraits, fashion and landscape (tilting LCD on the tripod). It easily accommodates the ‘larger’ lenses like the 16-55, the 56 and the 90 and in case of landscape the fast 16 and 23. The Pro2 is much smaller and most of the lenses mentioned above feel very large on the Pro2 and they obstruct the OVF. For that camera I have the f2 primes (23, 35 and 50) as well as the 14mm. I use the Pro2 for street and travel. Of the two it’s my favourite. I’ve always loved the ‘rangefinder-style’. Even though it is sometimes limiting. In that sense they complement each other. The Pro2 invites you to a slower style of photography.
I did take a brief look at the Pro3. Technically, the main difference is the more consistent and reliable autofocus (which is the main feature of the 26Mp sensor/processor). Functionally, I have a few problems with the Pro3 compared to the Pro2. The main issue for me is the single magnification of the OVF. That makes it very hard to use the OVF with anything wider than 23mm or longer than 35mm. The Pro2 in OVF mode has a dual magnification that enables anything between 16mm and 56mm. Overall the VF of the Pro3 is better in terms of brightness, size and eyepoint (for people who wear glasses), but the magnification for me is a dealbreaker. Note that if you wear glasses, the H1 viewfinder is generally easier to view as it is bigger and brighter. Another issue for me is the hidden LCD. It’s an extra effort to go into the menus for me. I would have loved an LCD as on the X100V. The small sub screen to me is a useless gadget as there’s no backlit feature like on the H1.
Talking about the X100V, I’m tempted to switch my Pro2 for an X100V. It might actually be a better match with the H1. Even less overlap. The main issue of the H1 (apart from battery life) is portability. It’s actually even bigger than a full frame Sony A7. In that sense the X100V might be the best complementary camera to an H1...

I have an X-T1 as well, and already placed my pre-order for the X100V. I contemplated the X-Pro3, but its too large for the purpose that I would want it for. I think the X100 series is hard to replace if you want something small but mighty. If you want the X100V for the size, the X-Pro3 is noticeably larger even when using it with the 27mm (I had the change to check out a pre-production unit).

Don't forget, the X-T4 is also about to come out, I think I'm going to sell a kidney, and get me one of those too lol

Jazz1 reacted to Threaded in X-Pro 3 Shutter dial lock
This is the same locking mechanism carried over from the X-Pro1 and X-Pro2 so existing X-Pro owners won’t be so confused by it (in fact the XT1 worked this way too).  The lock is *only* used to lock the dial in A position, engages automatically when the dial is set to A, and must then be pressed to release before setting any other speed.

I agree the later XT style lock is probably more useful, but I wonder whether it was just too complicated to try and implement that as well as the combined ISO dial the X-Pro uses.

I have a X-PRO3 and would not part with it and the advantage of being able to use other lenses than the 23mm which is my most used field of view as it was on my Leica M9.
I would most certainly never replace it with with the X100V for the only advantage of thr smaller size (the X- PRO3 osn't all that big)
I just might submit to the temptation of getting a X100V nest to the X-PRO3, but fear it will all too often be left behind and taking 2 bodies on a trip is for me a no go
