  1. Thanks
renes got a reaction from Sorabh in That 35mm f1.4 magic in other Fujinon lenses?
There are only three Fuji lenses that touched my heart with their rendering and "magical" character - 18/2, 35/1.4 and 60/2.4. I agree about 23/1.4 it has clinical rendering, that's why I did not buy it.

Unfortunately I am not touched by other Fuji lenses.
Next two I found interesting regarding the image rendering is 55-200mm f/4.8 and 27/2.8.

I still have both and for EVF itself I prefer to use X-E2. The EVF with shorter eye-point and even a bit lower magnification is the worst part of X-E3. It's trully the worst EVF I have experienced in last few years (try Sony, Oly and Panasonic). Add its terrible eyepiece and you feel it's point-and-shot style EVF.  Of course X-E2 EVF is not that great too but I see how better and more comfortable I frame with it compared to X-E3 one. I am not suppriced that X-E3 is not selling well. Fuji did big mistake bringing X-E3 with such poor EVF... same with removing d-pad and not bringing at least simple tilt LCD like X-A line have.

Long press on MENU/OK button will lock D-Pad and some other buttons.
It's a standard feature from Fuji exactly to prevent of accidentally hitting.
Described in manual, somewhere in beginning.

Fuji changed target group with this funny X-E3 that does not appreciate full camera control, fast and direct access to features but loves touched LCD for navigation and looking at it more then on what happens on the scene. X-E3 killed X-E line for me... look at this tiny EVF with x0.62 magn. with 'point-and-shot' style eyepiece in 2018 APS-C world! It's a joke and kiss-off many X-E users who asked for larger EVF.

I'm with johant regarding styling. I think the X-T20 has nicer styling even though I prefer the X-e line normally. I was hoping for something more business like, something that says that it's a serious camera, something to be appreciated. I can't quite put my finger on it but it just doesn't look right.
Imagine a smaller X-Pro2 without the optical viewfinder and you'd have a nicer looking camera from my perspective.

Well ... still the same opinion. I am not impressed by the styling. The backside looks more like a weird Apple device than a camera.

What are you talking about? Lack of d-pad means lack of 4 fn buttons! You may never use but for me it enough reason to reject such camera because it will lenght camera operation when I need to set features in the fly in street shooting and reportage. I remember time when Fuji users asked Fuji for "1 more fn button", but now it takes off four of them! Touched lcd does not replece it at all.

Oh boy. So instead of making a lightweight X-PRO2 they are going full "camera for idiots who want electronics shinies and full auto mode" /facepalm. I was waiting to decide but nope, it will be an x-pro2 and I'll keep my X-E1 for hiking, thank you very much you can keep your X-M2.

Thank you for great review and comparison,

I must say I prefer much more files and rendering from X-pro1.
But the files I like best produce GFX, and A-X serie.

Both 23mm do not have that "sould" 35/1.4, 60/2.4 and 18/2 have (+ 90/2). I found all new f2 WR primes bring ordinary rendering (excluding sharpness) to boring regarding character and "soul". I am selling my 35/2 and buying again 35/1.4. I am also affraid future 35/1.4 mk2 will lose "soul" of the mk1.

Same with me. 60/2.4 rendering, clarity, bokeh, colour is the best Fuji has achived. 50/2 rendering is ordinary and close boring to me.

I am dissapointed you have not listed the eyecup need - it's really a pain shooting with X-E2 in strong back/side lighting. I found the Fuji eyepiece with no eyrcup attachement one of the worst part of its cams.

renes reacted to synthesaur in Ken Rockwell X-T2 Review... X-T2 not really for Pro's
High ISO jpegs are still much better from my old Canon 6D. Fuji's low light jpg's look like cheap camera shots, noisy and all smeared.
The new XP2 and XT2 have a several year old Sony sensor...
They should have gone a FF way from the start.. A full frame sensor at 16mp would have been a monster killer..
So, yes if you want efficient camera to do (typical) weddings etc, Fuji may not be considered a pro camera.
For casual and street shooting it is great. I've had x100s, xt1, xp2 and now xt2...
After having shot with the xt2 I realize that i overpaid for it, the camera is not much better than its predecessor...

Did you take this shots on a tripod?
    I can't believe such a big difference in fl between 23/1.4 & 23/2 - it looks like 23/2 is rather a 20mm lens.

    EDIT:
Looking at many shots at close distances with f2-2.8 I decided to pass with it. Too much softness for me (never seen in other primes, even in 18/2). Maybe it has something with production issues of this lens and Fuji will fix it. Hope.

renes got a reaction from frankinfuji in What is your X-E3 wish list?
Ok, here is my list for X-E3 (most for better control):

    1. Front dial (even X-T10 has it)
    2. Joystick
    3. Metering switch under shutter's speed dial (like in X-T1)
    4. Larger EVF (but not that big as X-T1)
    5. Attachable eye cap (all Fuji cams should have it)
    6. Back AF-L button - better placement & bigger
    7. Filp LCD
    8. WR
    9. Bigger grip
    10. Moved forward a little shutter release button (like in X-T1)
