  1. I dropped mine on the floor while pulling my camera from the bag and the lens was on top of it... no marks, changes in IQ or mechanics... works like a charm...
  2. I just tried, nope, still no HSS unfortunately. I emailed Nissin and they replied that they are developing the HSS data for a new firmware which will be anounced on their website. You'd need to send it back for an upgrade though - no port on the i40 to do it yourself...
  3. Ended up getting the flektogon, I am not sorry, it's a very nice lens and lots of fun... It does get a bit heavy when used together with the Lens Turbo, though...
  4. Thanks for your reply and advice... you make a good point about de-fishing in practice, it's probably not as simple and practical as I thought. How much of a usable FOV compared to the 12mm can one get from the 8mm by just using the lightroom profile and cropping? The 10mm is a logical choice, I agree, but it's just so much bulkier and heavier that it puts me off. I'd be thinking about selling the 16mm and replacing it with a 12mm and the 18-55 zoom, or only with the 10-24, but it's just too good of a lens...
  5. I just stumbled on this this topic - sorry to bring it out again... I am faced with the same dilemma... I have the XF 16mm, which is currently the widest of my lenses... It's a great lens, but not wide enough on certain occasions (or so I feel), I am considering buying the Samyang 12mm. However, I am also considering getting the 8mm fisheye instead, as I am afraid that the 12mm won't make such a big difference to my existing XF16... As I've never owned a wider angle lens than my 16 before, I'd be happy to hear anyones input on this dilemma from this aspect. Would the 12mm make enough of a difference from the 16mm? I was considering the 10mm Samyang for this reason, but it's just too big and bulky... so now I'm thinking my kit would maybe be better complemented with the 8mm fisheye which, theoretically, I could defish and/or crop if needed and pretty much get the equivalent FOV of the 12mm? Thanks!
  6. Thanks for your replies - I was looking into the 23mm f2, but it is unfortunately a bit over my budget. In Europe the prices for the 23mm f2 are around the € 500 mark, whilst used 27mm can be found for half that price - € 250. Flektogons go for anything between € 100 - 250.
  7. Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I have recently bought an X-T1 and as I would like to get more into street photography, I am looking for a suitable 35mm equivalent lens. I already have the Lens Turbo Mk.II focal reducer, so one of the options I am considering is the Zeiss Jena Flektogon 35mm 2.4. From what I can read online it's supposed to be a great old lens, but I am having second thoughts, as it can get relatively expensive for an older manual lens, so much so that it is possible to get a used XF 27mm for almost the same money. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with using the Flektogon on a lens turbo adapter? My worry is that the distance / f-stop scale on the lens will not be the right one anymore, as is usually the case with a focal reducer. As I plan to use this lens mostly for street photography and zone focus, which might be much harder if this is the case, so perhaps a pre-focused XF 27 might actually be easier to use, plus its small size and portability is definitely a big plus? On the other hand, it would be a bit narrower, but I am not sure if that would be noticable at all (40mm vs approx 38mm). I'd be glad to hear any experiences with a similar choice or with those specific lenses, or any other advice in regards to their usefulness to help with my decision. Thanks in advance!
