    Great shots dv.!
I have the Walimex Pro version of this great lens!!! I really love it! So here are some examples for you to decide if you also want to purchase this lens. Notice there are no distortion or vignetting corrections. I just did some colour editings. Hope you like it.

Bijanfotografy reacted to frankinfuji in X-E1, is it still worth it?
With the possible exception of auto-focus, which you may not need, and the better viewfinder on the newer X-Series, I think the X-E1 is still a very good performer.

I have an X-E2, but still use my older X-M1 (which has the same sensor and internals as the X-E1) as I prefer the jpegs from the older sensor.

I think I really only miss my X-E2 when trying to use auto focus in low light, or when I need to use a viewfinder.  (But I miss my X-M1 when I need a tilting screen or want a more compact camera!)

But compare prices of a good used X-E2 to an X-E1 - as the X-E2 with the latest firmware is the equivalent of the current X-E2S model.

And if you don't use a viewfinder much - look at new X-M1 - they can be found for around $350, with the XC zoom lens.

Bijanfotografy reacted to jigesh in Fuji X-T2 vs. Nikon D750 for Image quality
    Smorton:

It depends on what you do (hobby vs. commercial, wild-life/sports vs. travel, etc.). Nikon FX (D810, D750) to any DX including X-T2 is a step down (just my view, others may disagree) in terms of focus accuracy, depth of field, and overall image quality (not to say Nikon raw files are much easier to work with in LR than Fuji's). The difference is quite noticeable and I have seen this first hand. Ideally, X-T2 can be an excellent addition to a D810 or D750 setup rather than substitution, of course, if money permits. Again, my personal view, not trying to upset anyone.

However, FX lenses (good quality, f1.4 or f1.8 or f2.8) are much bigger/heavier and so is the FX DSLR camera and flash. I shoot family and travel and don't make money out of photography. For me, X-T2 + lenses are easy to carry and less eye-catching (than Nikon setup). The pictures are also excellent, colors are great and the move (Nikon FX DSLR to Fuji DX mirrorless) serves my purpose. After all, moments, subjects and light play a much bigger role in how memorable your picture will be than the hardware one uses. What I don't like about X-T2 (coming from a decade worth of using FX) is native ISO of 200 (which I would have liked to be at least 100), and not being able to use as fast a shutter speed for a given aperture as on FX. Lighting system is also missing with Fuji though EF-X500 is a good first step.

    Good luck.

EDIT: By the way, if you never had a good FX camera setup, you won't have any previous bias/way to compare. Make no mistake, X-T2 is a great camera and Fuji has excellent lens lineup. You'll love the pictures you get from X-T2.

I had D810 and D750. In my experience they both produce better images than X-T2 which I now own and enjoy for portability reasons.

I thought this was about Steve loosing it? Well that actually happend a very long time ago already according to http://huffparanormal.com/ . Stopped reading his stuff after I discovered this..

And yes, the A9 is an impressive camera, but does that mean it invalidates the X-T2? I think not..

I am not knocking the a9.  Far from it.

I just think to claim it as the "ultimate camera" before anyone has one in hand to be a bit disingenuous.  I hope that it is a wonder, especially given its price!

I am concerned about the "rolling shutter" issues as I have yet to see evidence that it is not present.  It may be lessened, but eliminated is a stretch - though I am willing to be convinced.
As far as AF, let's see some real-world tests before going off.
OIS is still better than the 5-axis system in the Sony.  Even Sony admits this and turns off much of the 5-axis once an OIS lens is attached.
One thing is I don't care FF vs. APS.  It is all in the ISO, AF, etc.  No one looks at my prints and remarks on the size of the sensor.  Can you tell?
Better battery life is always good.  $3,000 good?  Maybe not.

My point was not about the a9, but about the superlatives and brand idolatry that has pervaded the industry.  I would like to see some real-world testing and comparison of the camera systems.  I do not care for BS adjectives and support for certain brands regardless.  I have used Sony cams.  Personally, I do not like the handling, though the images are fine.

Let's wait before crowning a "King of Cameras".  Ok?

Sony sensors are great. The cameras as a whole unit are crap.  Period.  Also, I've dealt with Sony service.  It's freakin' horrible;  and I thought Nikon in Melville, NY (Long Island) was bad.  No.  Try Sony.  Oh, and Good Luck.

That's my answer and I'm sticking to it.

Yes, I know there is excitement over the new a9 camera from Sony.  Seems like a worthy competitor to the Fuji X-T2, however, the price seems extreme at this point at $4,500 or almost 3x the X-T2.

So, I am wondering what it is about the camera that makes it worth so much?!?  I mean no one has the camera as of yet for thorough testing and comparison.

    Here is what Steve responded:

"This electronic shutter has no limitations like the Fuji or even older Sony’s. It is what I would use all the time in fact. Also, the Xt2 is not even close to this A9 in any way from IQ, to Speed, to Video to well, anything. Only thing the Fuji has over this is the Fuji look if that is your pref. This camera is like nothing else out there. It truly is."

    Really?!?

I used to go to this site because of the in-depth analysis of cameras, lenses, etc.  Seems Steve has "Gone Over to the Dark Side" and become nothing more than a "fan-boy" for both Sony and Leica.  I really wish this weren't rue as I liked his more conversational tone and analysis based in real-world usage.

Oh well, another one bites the dust of useless rhetoric backed up by pure emotion as opposed to professionalism.

    Hi folks,

Finally, after a long wait, I had the opportunity to meet and take pictures of the beautiful and enigmatic Little Owl (Athene noctua), one of my favorite European birds, and probably the cutest bird I’ve ever seen.

This little fluffy raptor measures around 21 cm in length with a wingspan of 55 cm (both male and female). Its weigh is about 170 grams. Its plumage color is brown and grey spotted with white. Its big yellow eyes stand out giving the bird a funny frowning expression as you can see in my new article on my website: Come check it out here: Little Owl Photo Hide

I show you one of the pictures of the article. You can see the rest of them on the article.

    Hi folks,

Last sunday I was shooting big raptors such vultures, kites and eagles. We left some carrion in front of the photo hide to attract them.

Suddenly two beautiful young foxes came from the bush and ate some carrion. After this they started playing in front of me. They were about 15 meters far from me. Fortunately I was shooting with the Fuji XF100-400mm, so I got enough close to them.

.In the sky, another species of raptors came down too. Black kites and Red kites started fighting and chasing each other’s in order to defend their air spaces, trying to dominate the other species. It was absolutely beautiful, as I could see how dominant Red kites are. A couple of Common buzzards came down too, but both were chasing and tried to be expulsed by Black kites, while Red kites were trying to expulse Black kites, what a strategic air flight!...

I'm not used this lens so much since buyed two month ago and I'm mostly "vacation shooter with zooms". Anyway I tried to use it at last trip to Malta, so here are two shots taken at night, f/2.8 iso3200, with no time to positioning, composing etc. Just "on the way".

I had a 27mm lens, because it was so small (with the X-E2), like an X100.
It is sharp... small... and thats all.
I liked it, but it is only a little bit smaller than the 35mm without the lenshood, wich is faster, focus is faster at low light, and has a very nice characteristic.
So XF27 is good, but a little bit boring.

I have it and love it.  Attached to the X-E2 it makes everything very small to carry around and go unnoticed.

As for flare...put that with some fuji colors (velvia this time) you get something like this:

I bought into Fuji because they offer both small lenses that I use for my travels and fast, and if need be, large lenses for my professional work.  If Fuji where to stick to small, and slower lenses then I have no desire to stick with them anymore.

If Fuji saw no more need to make large lenses then they would not carry on making the 8-16 f2.8 when they have the 10-24mm f4 IOS lens available.  I'm sure we will still see the 30'ish f1.X lens in the future and for those that want it, like me, we'll pay for it.
